1896

1896 - The Jordan Company is founded in Memphis, TN as a wholesale/retail lumber and millwork business

1906

Sussman Architectural Products LLC was founded by Isadore Sussman in 1906 as Sussman Ornamental Iron Works.

1950

Jack Sussman, the Founder of the J. Sussman, Inc. in the 1950’s welding his steel windows.

1960

Founded in 1960, the company grew from a small storm door & window manufacturer to our current 800,000 square feet of manufacturing space comprised of facilities in South Elgin and Genoa, IL.

1961

1961 - The Jordan Company begins to manufacture a line of aluminum windows, storm doors and wood door units at their new facility located at 4661 Burbank Road (Jordan’s current operating location)

1970

Formtech Enterprises, Inc. was founded in May 1970 in Akron, Ohio.

1977

1977 – The Rome, GA facility, along with other V.E. Anderson assets, was purchased by Alcan Building Products.

1979

1979 - Jordan enters the aluminum extrusion business with the installation of new extrusion press at the Burbank facility.

1985

1985 - Jordan expands extrusion sales by adding external customers

1988

In 1988, Formtech opened a new facility near Athens, Georgia, about 60 miles northeast of Atlanta.

1994

1994 – Profile Extrusion Company purchased the facility from Alcan.

1998

1998 – The facility began an expansion project to make room for a 3rd extrusion press.

2006

In 2006, Formtech moved from Erie to a new plant in nearby Fairview, Pennsylvania.

2006 – Profile’s 2nd expansion included an addition to the building and a new, fully automated 8″ extrusion press.

2006 - Jordan capitalizes on the tremendous growth in housing starts as revenues reach a record of $82 million.

2007

Jack Sussman receiving the Stained Glass Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.

2008

2008 - With the housing meltdown showing no signs of improvement, Jordan decides to close both window operating divisions (Memphis and Phoenix). Jordan issues a 60 day WARN notice in September 2008 affecting 150 corporate wide employees (approximately 100 in the Memphis Operation).

2012

2012 – A new, fully automated 7″ press was added in the Rome, GA facility further increasing capacity and production efficiencies.

2013

2013 - With a $7 million investment, Jordan Aluminum Extrusion Co opens state of the art Anodizing Finishing facility to become premier anodize supplier in Southeast.

2014

2014 – The Rome, GA facility was purchased by Custom Extrusion Holdings LLC and the company name changed to Profile Custom Extrusions.

2016

2016 - Jordan Aluminum Extrusion Company changes its name to Jordan Aluminum Company.

2017

2017 - With a $8.5 million investment, Jordan Aluminum Co commissions state of the art Extrusion Press, tripling capacity and adding additional alloy capabilities.
