Chris Adams brings to Cydan more than 20 years of business development, transactional and commercial planning experience in orphan drug development as well as a successful track record in private and public biotech fund raising. Prior to joining Cydan, Dr. Adams was President of CMA Biotech Consulting where he worked in an advisory role for a number of development stage orphan drug companies. Previously, Dr. Adams was Chief Business Officer of FoldRx Pharmaceuticals Inc., where he was responsible for business strategy, licensing and business development. He led the M&A process, which resulted in the acquisition of the company by Pfizer in October of 2010. Prior to FoldRx, Dr. Adams was Senior Vice President, Business Development for ViaCell Inc., and Vice President, Business Development for Transkaryotic Therapies Inc. Previously, Dr. Adams served Director of Business Development for the Pharmaceutical Division of Ciba-Geigy Limited, Basel, Switzerland. Dr. Adams has a diploma in organic chemistry and biochemistry and a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Zurich. Dr. Adams also holds an MBA from INSEAD of Fontainebleau, France.

James McArthur has published and patented work in the areas of immunology, gene therapy, genetic diseases, vascular biology and oncology. He has consulted for venture capital groups and biotechnology companies in diverse therapeutic areas. Prior to joining Cydan Development, Dr. McArthur was the founding employee and Chief Scientific Officer of Synovex Co, where he was responsible for all company operations and led the development of treatments for rheumatoid arthritis and fibrotic diseases. Previously, Dr. McArthur served as Vice President of Preclinical Development for Phylogix Inc, a stem cell biology company, and was the Acting Head of Research and Principal Scientist at Cell Genesys Inc. developing gene therapeutics for the treatment of genetic diseases and cancers. In addition, Dr. McArthur was a Senior Scientist at Somatix Therapy, which was acquired by Cell Genesys. Dr. McArthur received his BSc in biochemistry and PhD in molecular oncology from McGill University in Montreal and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge and the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. McArthur is a member of the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) Scientific Advisory Board.

Imran Babar is a Chief Business Officer at Cydan, Co-Founder & Chief Business Officer at Tiburio Therapeutics Inc, and Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Rare Genomics Institute and is based in New York City, New York. He has worked as Private Equity Senior Associate at OrbiMed, Biotechnology Associate at Cowen and Company, and Vice President at OrbiMed. Imran works or has worked as VP of Scientific Affairs at Rare Genomics Institute. He attended Carleton College between 2000 and 2004 and Yale University between 2005 and 2011.
