28 year technology veteran. 3 IPOs out of 5 companies that I joined in either premoney or stealth mode - Splunk, Portal Software and Sonic Solutions. Newly CPO at Cypress.io that is powering a paradigm shift in software testing and building a passionate community of developers embracing our new approach. Just prior to that at CloudBees, powering the continuous economy, as a strategic product advisor and previously CPO leading a 200+ member product organization including product management, engineering, and product marketing. Also currently a board member at Honeycomb.io, the driver of the observability movement and advisor to various startups in DevOps, cloud, data and art tech.Was on Splunk's senior leadership team as the VP Product then SVP Solutions from stealth mode/12 people through its multi-billion $ IPO in April 2012. Have held leadership roles in product management, professional services and sales engineering and been responsible for building teams in virtually all operating functions. Founder/CEO Artloop 1999-2001 and Aura 2014-2015, both data-centered platforms for the art world. Expert in big data, machine data, logging, systems management, enterprise software, complex web services, product management practices, pricing / packaging strategy, product-led/self-service growth models, and building companies from the ground up. Passionate about art, design, data, systems, furniture, fashion, cars, literature, political systems and philosophy. Couldn't care less about team sports, celebrities or popular culture. Haven't played a computer game since 1984 on a Commodore 64. Formally educated in fine art and business; self taught as a technologist. Bay Area native although born in the Netherlands and spent a lot of my formative years abroad.Oh, and I am crazy in love with my little spaniel, Buzzy. We think he’s a Markiesje, an old Dutch breed being revived in recent times, but how one ended up in a rescue in LA is a mystery. Two California bred Dutch mutts must have been meant to find each other!
