When will I work?
Internship runs from 12 January 2026 to 06 August 2026. *If your university quarter/semester doesn't end until after these dates, we may consider an alternate schedule.
Where is this opportunity located?
Position based in Brookings, South Dakota. May work from Daktronics offices and/or home-based office. This position is open to candidates eligible to work in the U.S.
What are the pay and perks?
The typical hiring range for this position is $15.50 to $20.00 per hour based on the location of Brookings, South Dakota. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

Qualifications
To be considered for Sales Intern, we require the following:
You're an outgoing, self-motivated, flexible, well-organized person who is both empathetic and personable. You understand customers, so know the work schedule may include evenings and weekends. You can meet our academic, travel, and other requirements.
Preferred applicants will be full-time students currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program related to sales, business, communication, economics, sports management, entrepreneurial studies, marketing, or engineering. Will consider December 2025 graduates.
Completion of sophomore year in good academic standing.
Must be able to take a semester off from school to complete the internship, if applicable. Taking a semester off means no class obligations either online or in person during the duration of the internship.
Must be able to commit to at least 40 hours per week. Overtime will be required, as needed, to support special events and travel.
Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application.
Travel Requirements:
Willing to travel up to 30% of the time (50 days). Generally, 5-15 trips ranging from 2-13 days including weekends with the average being 2 days away.
Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver's license. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Qualified Driver status. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
Comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements for operating Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV):
Be at least 21 years of age.
Obtain state & company certification to operate a CMV with a gross vehicle weight rating from 10,001 to 26,001 pounds.
Employees will be required to participate in a driver exam road test
Pass a medical exam, which includes drug test.
Physically able to connect trailer to vehicle.
Be able to operate large trucks with or without trailers safely in various weather and traffic conditions.

The focus of the Sales Operations Specialist is on producing high quality, detailed work based on Centre established standards, guidelines, and procedures. The Sales Operations Specialist will be responsible for precise, consistent output of work which will ensure the proper level of support and maintenance of Centre accounts within their assigned territory in a sales environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for proper registration of Centre Deals
Maintain relationships with vendors for pricing discounts & opportunity updates
Produce Centre Sales Quotes in Sell and create Opportunities in Manage for Account Executive
Utilize ConnectWise Manage to assist with data entry of account information
Review and monitor the current state of existing accounts and analyze trends
Identify cross sell opportunities for current Centre accounts
Recommend areas of opportunity for Account Executives
Update Company with data received from New Customer Form
Forecast assistance (enter opportunities, upload opportunity documents, and update for run rate / renewal opportunities)
Process Won opportunities, create Sales Orders and create Project / Service tickets
Assist Account Executive in follow-up with customers regarding open opportunities
Assist Account Executive in updating the Statement of Work (SOW) with remaining information once document is created by the Regional Sales Manager (customer contact information, site information, proof-reading document)
Submit Customer Satisfaction Requisition & Return Material Authorization forms when necessary
Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Certifications
3+ Years of sales or customer service experience required.
IT sales experience strongly desired.
Proficiency in computer systems (Microsoft Office, Internet, CRM) required.
Prefer ConnectWise Manage and Sell experience for quoting.
High School Degree required
Associate's Degree or higher preferred
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Expert experience with Retail Industry applications, e-commerce platforms, source-to-pay platforms, or other systems requiring tax automation preferred.
Expert understanding of ERP, Tax/Tax Technology, or Tax Professional Certifications or Credentials recommended.
Prefer in-depth tax application experience working with ERPs, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft, other In-house applications, and Vertex products.

Pay Transparency Statement:
US Base Salary Range: $119,300.00 - $155,000.00
