Dallas CASA company history timeline
Dallas CASA was one of three pilot programs established in 1979.
Our first class of volunteers graduated in 1980.
The plaza was remodeled in 1984.
In 2010, it was announced that Natural Grocers would take over the spot.
In 2020, 1,527 Dallas CASA volunteers advocated for 3,374 Dallas County children.
Supportive adults such as foster/resource parents, case managers, GALs, therapists and social workers will also find this to be helpful in their roles in young people’s lives. (2020 Book, 8 training hours)
Child Welfare Information Gateway and Children’s Bureau created a 30-page bulletin to provide an overview of racial disproportionality and disparity in the child welfare system and highlight practices that can be implemented to combat these issues. (2021 publication, 1 training hour) Access here
