Ability to work alone and get job done in an efficient manner. 5. Must be able to lift, push, reach, bend, stop and walk in order to care for patients 6. Develops and processes permanent film records of the examination or verifies images are sent to PACs. 7. Maintains an inventory of coupling agent, film, drugs and other supplies and requisitions supplies and materials, as needed. 8. Maintains sterile instruments, as needed, may clean and re-sterilize them or return them to central supply for sterilization and storage. 9. Teaches ultrasound technique to student technologists. 10. Demonstrates willingness to accept non-routine work assignments, as appropriate. 11. Some specialties will be included in call rotation on a scheduled basis, and able to be on call and in the department within 1 hour after being called for a procedure. 12. Must be able to maintain composure during procedures or exams with potential colostomy or draining wounds, as well as working with patients with various conditions such as Hepatitis, Meningitis or those with isolation precautions. Other Duties: Verifies images and reports of exam and sends to PACS. Maintains an inventory of coupling agent, drugs and other supplies and requisitions and materials, as needed. Obtains sterile instruments, as needed, and returns them to central supply for sterilization and storage. Teaches ultrasound technique to student technologists and completes appropriate paperwork. Must be able to work a variety of shifts and be in the call rotation on a scheduled basis, along with on evenings/overnights and weekends. Hospital observed holidays are not required to be covered by Per Diem Ultrasound Technologists, however they may volunteer to cover if desired.
