    *$500 Sign On Bonus (Externals Only) * * *Title: *Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) - 40 hour per week - 8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday, between the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm. *Rhinebeck, NY.* *Purpose:*Receives patients and others, schedules appointments, and gives accurate information to callers. Coordinates front desk operations to ensure smooth flowing operations and accurate entry of patient data. Responsible for performing a wide variety of clerical duties for administrators and clinical staff. *Essential Responsibilities:* 1. Maintains reception area while ensuring all patients are greeted and check in/out in an accurate and timely manner. Upon check in, verify all patient demographics and insurance to ensure accuracy, scan all appropriate documents including ID, insurance cards and required forms. 2. Verifies all patients insurances online or via the phone and collects copays and co-insurances. 3. Post charges and copayments. Enter information on spreadsheet once balanced. 4. Provides necessary forms for completion and signatures, reviews for accuracy and notifies the clinical staff when the patient is ready. 5. Schedule patient appointments and necessary procedures. Maintain schedule and revise for cancellations. Confirm next day appointments. Receive authorizations and complete all required hospital forms. 6. Pull charts for nurses to prepare for patient visits. Process medical record requests. 7. Assist Physicians by returning calls per physicians request to patients, updating and maintaining physician schedule, and calling patients with test results when requested. 8. Complete and review disability and workman's compensation forms and obtain physician signature. 9. Maintain filing, charting, faxing and all other clerical functions needed for this office. 10. All mainlining functions including sending new patient welcome packets the day initial appointment is made. 11.
