    Maintains all Plant Services operating systems to include steam, electricity, air, heat, cooling, water, vacuum, medical gases, etc. Provides emergency alternatives for the above in the event of failures. Responds to any and all Facility issues that may arise anywhere in the hospital. Responsibilities: 1. Ensures patient comfort and safety by reducing impact of basic service interruptions. 2. Ensures staff and visitor comfort & safety. 3. Ensures equipment is operating efficiently, and safely. By both rounding of mechanical rooms and monitoring equipment through the building management system (BMS). 4. Performs boiler water analysis and treatment. 5. Corrects and reports hazardous conditions noted on rounds. Monitors boiler pressures, tank levels, various leaks etc. Responds to Code Reds. 6. Reports and logs all defective equipment, particularly if it pertains to safety. 7. Repairs equipment, including patient items, during off shifts. 8. Makes routine rounds (nightly) to all equipment rooms and machine spaces. 9. Answers all calls from the facilities dispatcher and responds to all computer alarms. 10. Responds to elevator problems. 11. Performs preventive maintenance on air handling equipment. 12. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. 13. Performs other duties as assigned. Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT Other Information: Required: Experience working in a hospital or industrial environment. Must have good mechanical aptitude, analytical thinking skills, and at least 7 years of working in a hospital or an industrial environment. Experience in operating air handling units, heating systems, cooling systems, boilers, chillers, and refrigeration equipment. Experience in performing preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment to include filter changes, greasing bearings on pumps and motors etc. Minimum Experience: High school diploma and seven years or more job related experience. License: Required OE-2, or S1, or S2. Working Conditions: Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity Occupational: Significant occupational risk Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. Essential Job functions and key responsibilities These will include but are not limited to the following: Perform or assist in general checks such as preflight and postflight inspections Tow or manually push/pull aircraft and GSE with appropriate support equipment Properly perform and document assigned maintenance and inspection tasks as required by MFC, the Director of Maintenance and in accordance with appropriate instructions and applicable FAA regulations Remove, replace, rig and adjust components and assemblies with minimal assistance. Assist in monitoring and coordinating maintenance and inspection activities with the DOM. - Be able to accurately work with basic mathematical concepts and be able to use conversion tables. Ability to read and have basic understanding of interpreting system drawings, schematics, electronic diagrams and other similar technical materials Help maintain shop tooling and GSE in appropriate serviceable and calibrated condition.
