Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)
Oversees safe and economical daily and long-term maintenance of equipment at assigned power plant. Ensures safety of employees, contractor and public in all maintenance activities in operating plants. Coordinates schedules and conducts mechanical, electrical, and I&C maintenance repair and preventative maintenance. Organizes and oversees contract repair shop work. Develops and maintains computerized maintenance management program. Ensures compliance with all applicable environmental and safety regulations during the performance of plant maintenance activities. Schedules materials, equipment and personnel for plant outages and overhauls. Participates in the planning and scheduling of plant activities. Coordinate plant maintenance outages with local hosts and utilities. Maintains needed site spare parts in coordination with maintenance personnel and the Plant Administrator. Develops and monitors Maintenance Department Budget. Develops contracts (in coordination with other involved parties) and oversees performance of contractors required for on-site maintenance, services, equipment rentals, and maintenance training. Manages new equipment warranties. Manages Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) as applicable. On-call 24 hours/day 7 days/week to respond to potential power plant problems.

Works within general guidelines; applies advanced technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems for a function.
Manages multiple functions within operations the maintenance function. Regularly manages large-scale projects/activities or a very closely related set of projects/activities.
Responsible for performance reviews, promotional decisions, and pay actions for support and professional levels. Oversees the training and development of staff, including contractors.
Serves as one of the primary decision makers in the recruiting and selection process.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma, degree from technical/vocational school or equivalent; prefer Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
Previous work leadership or senior level contributor experience.
Typically requires minimum of 5+ years of power generation experience in gas turbine power plant maintenance, and 3+ years of supervisory experience.
Intimate knowledge and experience with the repair and maintenance practices of heavy frame combustion turbine.
Valid state driver's license.
Salary Information:
Salary range - $119,371.57 to $152,198.75

The Manager, Maintenance, Turnaround and Construction is responsible for leading and managing personnel within the Maintenance, Turnaround and Construction department in regard to the operation of the refinery, achieving goals in the areas of HSE, budget compliance, reliability, optimization, and personnel development
Job Responsibilities May Include:
Provides functional leadership for all maintenance activities in the refinery to ensure that the facilities are kept in a safe and reliable condition within a competitive cost structure
Administers company policies within the department and ensures refinery administrative procedures, discipline, safety policies, management practices and labor contracts are administered consistently and fairly
Develops, directs, and establishes a safety program and safety practices within the department and constantly strives to prevent accidents and to provide a safe, healthy work environment
Directs the activity of the resident contractor personnel and all other contractors performing maintenance work in the refinery
Ensure contractors adhere to acceptable standards of safety, workmanship, housekeeping, government regulations, conduct, and productivity
Evaluates refinery practices to assess if critical Process Safety Management (PSM) equipment/system repair work is being conducted in a safe and consistent manner
Maintains and improve the performance of department personnel which includes:
organizational changes to meet changing needs
hiring of new personnel
administering a personnel performance improvement program that includes goal setting, performance evaluations, and counseling to achieve high standards of performance
Develops and implements personnel training programs to maintain and improve skills and to keep personnel updated on the latest maintenance, reliability, mechanical integrity, and inspection techniques
Contacts and consults with outside companies for specialty work and expertise that is not available within the Company
Collaborates with the Refinery Leadership Team to develop and control the overall facility budget for production, capital, and expense
Develops the department expense budget and continuously monitors these costs to anticipate and control possible variances
Provides technical counsel to optimize on-stream factors/reliability and reduce refinery expenses by recommending equipment modifications and improvement
Provides critical input in regard to refinery turnaround strategy and planning
Directs the management of plant turnarounds and oversees that activities are safely and timely completed within the established budget.
Participates in the development of refinery management philosophy as well as supports and implements management policies and practices
Manages and directs the efficient operation of the following groups: Electrical, Hard Trades, Instrumentation, Machinery, Turnaround Planning & Scheduling, Area Execution, and Procurement
Trains and develops both hourly and salaried subordinates to ensure a capable, professional workforce
Provides stewardship for plant integrity programs, policies, and procedures to satisfy governmental statues and regulations and ensures compliance with these programs.

3+ years' supervisory or process management experience in a union environment required.
Preferred Qualifications:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for supervising all positions within the Maintenance Department and will work collectively with the Plant Management team to coordinate and discuss plans to maximize bioprocessing performance. Team members in this position are in charge of coordinating and supporting the bioprocessing facility maintenance team and contractors to achieve a safe and efficient completion of the workload. The Maintenance Manager is also accountable for developing preventative maintenance schedules for process equipment and maintaining up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure team members are trained in all aspects of existing maintenance procedures.
Provide trend and root cause failure analysis that affects the plant safety, operation and reliability.

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for supervising all positions within the Maintenance Department and will work collectively with the Plant Management team to coordinate and discuss plans to maximize bioprocessing performance. Team members in this position are in charge of coordinating and supporting the bioprocessing facility maintenance team and contractors to achieve a safe and efficient completion of the workload. The Maintenance Manager is also accountable for developing preventative maintenance schedules for process equipment and maintaining up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures. POET bioprocessing facilities operate on a 24-hour continuous schedule. Team member must be available as needed.
Ensure team members are trained in all aspects of existing maintenance procedures.
Provide trend and root cause failure analysis that affects the plant safety, operation and reliability.
Support maintenance team members as well as contractors to ensure tasks are completed in a safe and efficient manner.
Assist Maintenance Technicians with duties as necessary; this includes, but is not limited to, routine cleaning and testing and working on the floor with Technicians when shutdowns occur.
Schedule and complete work orders and projects needed for repair or upgrades.
Coordinate facility shutdown planning and execution with the management team.
Oversee the application and completion of the facility's preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment and work orders.
Maintain the preventative maintenance (PM) and equipment database in the Maximo system.
Remove, install, rebuild, weld, torch, lubricate and clean all equipment associated with bioprocessing processes as assigned
Create and present reports detailing maintenance activities, state of bioprocessing equipment, shut down planning and cost control.
Contact contractors and vendors to assist in troubleshooting and maintaining bioprocessing equipment as needed.
Assist the management team in the development of the annual Repair and Maintenance budget.
Maintain the spare parts inventory and supplies; support the purchasing function in coordination with the maintenance team.
Work closely with other operating departments to reduce or eliminate down time as directed by the management team.
Ensure compliance with all company, State and Federal regulatory agency policies and rules and assist in implementing approved changes.
Ensure all daily documentation and accountability of required mechanical information is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Post-Secondary Education or other formal training in a technical field preferred.
5 or more years' experience in a manufacturing/processing environment required.
5 years of supervisory and/or managerial experience is preferred.
Knowledge of cGMP food regulations and compliance with POET biorefinery regulations preferred.
Knowledge of principles of equipment reliability, predictive and preventative maintenance, and maintenance planning preferred.

Experience with fabrication, welding, cutting; repair of equipment such as gearboxes and agitator assemblies; boiler operations and water chemistry; material handling systems such as conveyors; preventative/proactive maintenance practices, fabrication and repair of metal/plastic piping systems; and instrument and electrical work.
Experience with electrical work and repairs, welding, fabricating, concrete work, hydraulics, pneumatic and fluid processes, and ability to read schematic drawings preferred.
Experience with Maintenance management systems such as Maximo is preferred.
Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations for both construction and manufacturing environments.
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to embrace change.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role has some physical requirements that our team members will need to be able to perform, such as:
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, respirators (depending on the location), hazardous material suit, hearing protection, and harness.
Working at extreme heights (approximately 150 ft), in confined spaces, and in extreme temperatures from -20 to +100 degrees Fahrenheit, both indoors and outdoors. Due to the nature of the work, the areas can be dusty at times.
