A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FLEET MECHANIC / OIL & LUBE TECHNICIAN
As a Fleet Mechanic / Oil & Lube Technician, you ensure, through regular preventative maintenance, that our fleet trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment operate as intended. You inspect all fleet equipment for compliance and functionality, making sure that all moving parts are well-greased. So that operators, shippers, and receivers always have equipment at the ready that is roadworthy and in good working condition, you also help troubleshoot issues and participate in repairs. You accurately interpret repair manuals and work orders. On occasion, you need to answer roadside calls for disabled vehicles. You keep your work environment clean and organized. Passionate about safety, you follow all company rules and regulations. You take pride in keeping our complex machinery running efficiently!
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FLEET MECHANIC / OIL & LUBE TECHNICIAN
* Must be at least 18 years old.
* Authorized to work in the US.
* Ability to service and diagnose brakes.
* Ability to service and diagnose diesel trucks (tractor/trailers) and power-train mechanics.
* Ability to use basic hand tools.

Working Conditions:

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will diagnose problems and performs complex and/or major mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on all yellow iron and other oil field equipment.
Responsibilities
* Heavy Equipment Maintenance: Performs all necessary preventative maintenance on heavy equipment according to established guidelines and time frames. Keeps accurate and detailed records of failures and repairs in Computerized Maintenance Management System. Identifies and orders parts necessary to complete repairs and routine maintenance. Performs complex repairs on equipment. Replaces parts and equipment as necessary. Assists lower level Mechanics in completing work assignments as necessary.
* Troubleshooting: Troubleshoots and diagnoses all problems with yellow iron equipment. Completes troubleshooting repairs and/or modifications work on equipment.
* Tool Maintenance: Performs daily inspections of tools and equipment used. Ensures cleanliness of hand tools, equipment and parts.
Qualifications

Responsible for procedural compliance of Services directives and standards. Inspects Company areas for housekeeping, safety, and environmental regulatory compliance
Performs technical inspections of aircraft, aircraft components and equipment
Performs quality technical inspection of aircraft, aircraft components, parts, repairs, and systems (including avionics, electrical, instrument and armament) as required by functional assignment
Performs quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment and tools used in aircraft maintenance
Performs initial, in-progress and final quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts
Maintains aircraft forms and records using the Optimized Naval Aviation Logistic Management Information System (OOMA)
Must be skill qualified in a primary MOS from any of the following OccFlds: 6113/6173, equivalent skill designation from other services or possess valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification.
Six (6) years' minimum experience as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) on Military Aircraft or 6 years FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) experience
Must have four (4) years' minimum experience rotary wing aircraft
Insure MTI's maintenance operation will function as follows: * Ensure all equipment is maintained and repaired in a safe and economical manner. * MTI operates according to state, federal, and local regulations. * MTI meets customer requirements. * Maximize utilization of mechanics and equipment.
* On call some nights and weekends
* Employees follow company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure all equipment is maintained by Martin policies and procedures.
2. Ensure all write-ups are repaired daily.
3. Ensure preventive maintenance is preformed daily.
4. Coordinate with terminal supervisor, shop foreman, and the safety department.
5. Train and cross-train in all areas of shop.
6. Complete duties as assigned by the terminal supervisor and/or the shop foreman.
7. Maintain a clean and safe workplace. Job Requirements EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalentand three (3) plus years'work experience as a mechanic. Should have the ability to diagnose mechanical problems and make repairs. Knowledge of standard materials, tools and equipment and skill in the use and care of tools.
