    * $20,000 Sign On/ Retention Bonus* External candidates only Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center & Clinics Radiology-Diagnostic department has openings for Radiologic Technologists - varying from per diem, part-time and full-time openings on all shifts (days, evenings, nights, or rotating). We are happy to discuss the details of available shifts during the interview. DHMC and Clinics Radiologic Technologists perform radiologic procedures requiring advanced technical skills and understanding of complicated requests from specialized clinics. They work in many different areas providing coverage for Outpatients, Portables, Emergency Room, OR, Fluoroscopy and Neuroradiology. Our Radiology staff perform at the highest potential of their license. We have a team atmosphere and work together to provide excellent patient care. They perform diagnostic radiologic exams and procedures independently and may supervise new hires and student technologists from area colleges. Our hiring managers are keen to talk to new grads and experienced Imagers and X-Ray Techs to see if our current openings may match your interests. Varying shifts available. Dartmouth is the best where it matters most! DH Offers You: Employees hired to work at least 0.50 FTE (20 hours per week) and their eligible dependents may participate in Dartmouth Health benefit plans on the employee's first day of employment. Medical Insurance: Two medical plans available through Anthem BC/BS: Employees also receive a base employer contribution of 4% of biweekly pay plus a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) that is matched with a Health Savings Account and a PPO Plan that features higher premiums balanced by copays and lower deductibles. Retirement: Employee contributions are vested immediately. Biweekly matching contribution of 50% on up to 4% of pay saved-for a maximum match of 2% of pay. Paid Time Off: Paid time off is accrued per pay period based on hours worked. This includes six paid holidays. Shift Differential:10% evening, 20% night, and 15% weekend shift differentials when applicable. Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $3,000 per year. Dental Vision Responsibilities Operates the section's imaging equipment while performing section procedures. Reviews medical record for patient history and pertinent clinical information. Transfers patient to imaging table, explains procedure and positions the patient according to protocol. Administers applicable contrast media as prescribed by the radiologist, orally, intravenously, via urethra or rectum. Recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reaction. * Selects proper exposure technique and follows protocol throughout exam * Reviews study for overall quality, illuminates any problems which were not part of initial exam and alert Radiologist for further imaging instructions. Performs radiologic procedures requiring advanced technical skills and understanding of complicated requests from specialized clinics. Reviews studies for overall quality. Operates computers associated with imaging equipment used to produce, process, and optimize clinical data. Archives images onto appropriate media for the section involved. Performs quality control procedures at the designated intervals on imaging and ancillary equipment to ensure compliance with Federal and Joint Commission standards of care. Organizes daily work schedule and responds to emergencies. Instructs medical staff and oversees student technologists in unit's operation, as necessary. Maintains a second professional registry to remain compliant with section certifications and Federal inspections if required. May be responsible for Insertion of IVs, enema tips or urologic catheter placement. Mentors students and orients Medical Imagers to the many sections of Diagnostic Radiology. Upon completion of orientation, Medical Imager is responsible for the following: Fluoroscopy to include: * MSK, Neuro procedures, GI/GU Portable imaging in: * all intensive care units as well as PICU/ICN, OR * both main campus and OSC O-arm ED to include Trauma response Highly specialized orthopedic protocols Outpatient Imaging * Must maintain proficiency in all Code designations and appropriate responses Specialized imaging for suspected child abuse studies and fetal demise Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications * Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved allied health program specific to the modality employed. * Must be able to perform duties independently with minimal supervision. * Must be proficient in the use of Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Transport, and/or other computer systems unique to the specific imaging section. * Must be able and willing to work: on-call, weekends, holidays and variable shifts. Required Licensure/Certifications * Professional registry for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for modality employed is required when mandated by Federal or section certifications or registry eligible. * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. * Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.

    Provide diagnostic imaging services according to accepted standards and protocols and assure patient safety during procedures Responsibilities General Diagnostic Procedures: * Performs all diagnostic procedures following policies and procedures established by the department and proper protocol. * Adjusts patient care based on age specific needs * Uses all equipment properly and in a manner that minimizes hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients. * Determines most suitable position and shields patient for optimum imaging, protocol, and patient comfort. Follows ALARA principle (staff and patient shielding). * Explains procedures and responds to questions appropriately. * Scans paperwork into the PAC's System and have proper paperwork filled out (IV contrast paperwork). * Maintains working knowledge of the PAC's System. * Demonstrates knowledge of CD Burning. * Completes patient charges for each exam in a timely manner. * Transports patients to and from the department. * Maintains a clean and orderly environment and associated checklist. Special Diagnostic Testing: * Demonstrates competency in performing all procedures and use of the equipment for CAT Scans as assigned. * Initiates a peripheral IV for patients requiring designated diagnostic testing within the radiology dept in accordance with Hospital policy and as assigned after completion of education and competence demonstration. * Reviews and follows the CT protocol assigned by the Radiologist. * Keep dose as low as possible to achieve a diagnostic exam. * Use the appropriate protocols for adults and pediatric. Administrative: * Uses computer to access reports. * Follows protocols for releasing of images. * Assists with administrative responsibilities of the department to include scheduling appointments, answering the phone, etc. * Performs all quality controls procedures daily as assigned and maintains appropriate logs. * Orders radiology supplies as directed. * Participates in annual surveys and inspections. * Able to teach/aid students. The CT Technologist performs computerized axial tomography procedures and maintains equipment and supplies.
