**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced Research Analyst for our Safety Assessment site located in Mattawan, MI.
Bioanalytical Chemistry supports the evaluations of test compounds by providing bioanalytical quantitative analysis of drug in body fluids and tissues from non-regulated and regulated studies including preclinical safety evaluations, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic studies, and clinical trials. Staff participate in the development and validation of quantitative LC/MS/MS methodology, sample analysis, and interpretation and reporting of data utilizing validated hardware and software systems. This includes the development of sample extraction techniques, rapid LC separations, and employment of laboratory robotics to enhance delivery time of bioanalytical data. Staff are also knowledgeable in the application of GxP's and applicable SOPs, along with adhering to study protocols to accurately document methods, procedures, and results for inclusion into study reports and regulatory documents.
Essential Functions:
+ Efficiently perform and document all procedures, materials and results in compliance with applicable regulatory standards as applicable (protocols, methods, SOPs, etc.)
+ Demonstrate effective communication skills through informal discussions with peers, supervisor, and team
+ Assist with laboratory maintenance functions
+ Independently perform laboratory support functions such as labeling and solution preparations
+ Assist with maintaining study specific inventory of consumables with oversight
+ Write both study and non-study deviations with minimal oversight
+ Actively participate in process improvement initiatives with oversight
+ Develop critical thinking, troubleshooting and time management skills aligned with needs of the operational area
+ Assist in execution of routine sample analysis studies with oversight
+ Assist in execution of method validation projects with oversight as needed
+ Operate laboratory instruments with complete oversight
+ Assist with data analysis in appropriate software for at least one analytical platform
**Job Qualifications**
Qualifications (Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities required to accomplish the essential functions) include but are not limited to:
+ Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS). No previous work experience required
+ An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above

No Compensation. The extent to which the Intern and the Company clearly understand that there is no expectation of compensation. The Intern understands that they are not entitled to wages for their time spent in the internship. The intern agrees that he/she will be compensated in knowledge, education, and experience as consideration for the duties/responsibilities that he/she will undertake during the duration of this agreement.
Housing & Living Expenses: Housing is not provided, intern is responsible for coordinating summer arrangements. There are an abundance of housing options in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek during the summer. Company will provide $600 monthly stipend to assist in covering living expenses such as food, gas and housing.

**SCOPE OF THE ROLE:**
Learn various aspects of the Engineering function by working with the Engineering and/or Manufacturing teams on core product lines at Gast. Provide day-to-day support to existing team members and take ownership of specific projects designed to achieve product development, quality improvements, and manufacturing improvements. Collaborate with other organization functions, including Procurement, Operations, Finance, Regulatory, and Sales, to achieve objectives.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Provide project support for the Engineering team
+ Develop Work Instructions and Standard Work
+ Initiate and follow through on Engineering Change Notices for product/process enhancements
+ Write lab tests to validate product changes or measure performance/reliability
+ Assemble and test prototype/derivative products and work on processing development teams
+ Utilize project management tools to track activities and progress on projects
+ Provide Support to Product Manufacturing team
+ Participate in CI/Rapid Improvement Events, and LEAN manufacturing events
+ Assist in new layouts for the production line
+ Complete efficiency studies on the production floor
+ Investigate/determine the root cause of field failure/warranty returns
+ Correct production quality/assembly problems
+ Determine proper disposition of product in receiving/first article inspection
**PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS** :
+ Strong drive for results; manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously; excellent verbal and written communication skills; fast learner to new concepts, natural curiosity and willingness to ask questions; proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications; able to travel domestically for 1-2 days at a time.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:**
+ Sophomore year complete by start of internship, majoring or minoring in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
+ 3.0 or higher grade point average.

The Finance Intern will assist in financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and other various day to day accounting/controller functions. This role is a very fast paced environment covering multiple industries, products, processes, and production plants.
Potential locations for this internship include Elkhart, IN and Bristol, IN and Springfield, MO.
As a Finance Intern, you will be working on robust, hands-on projects. Potential projects may include, but not limited to:
* Sales forecasting and trends analysis.
* Contributing to the preparation/consolidation of monthly and quarterly reporting
* Facilitating improvement in historic data upkeep and the consistency/organization of reporting
* Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Finance/Accounting
