**Role Summary**
We are seeking an Expert-Level PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to lead large-scale database modernization and migration initiatives across hybrid and multi-cloud environments - with a primary focus on Google Cloud (AlloyDB, Cloud SQL). This role combines deep PostgreSQL expertise, Oracle-to-Postgres migration leadership, and the ability to architect and execute complex multi-cloud transformation projects. **What You Will Do:**
**PostgreSQL Administration & Engineering**
+ Act as the PostgreSQL Subject Matter Expert (SME) across the organization, leading architecture, performance tuning, automation, and high-availability strategies.
+ Design, implement, and manage PostgreSQL clusters in Google Cloud (AlloyDB, Cloud SQL).
+ Configure and support replication, HA/DR (streaming, logical, Patroni), backup, recovery, and failover mechanisms.
+ Automate key administrative tasks using Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, and integrate with CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery and change management.
+ Implement and integrate with Ensono and Client proactive monitoring and observability frameworks (Google/AWS-native tools, Data Dog, BMC) to ensure high performance and uptime.
**Oracle → PostgreSQL Migration Leadership**
+ Lead end-to-end migration efforts from Oracle to PostgreSQL/AlloyDB - including assessment, schema conversion, data transformation, validation, and tuning.
+ Leverage tools like Ora2Pg, AWS SCT/DMS, and custom migration frameworks to automate and streamline migration tasks.
+ Refactor PL/SQL to PL/pg SQL, optimize data models, and ensure application compatibility in the target PostgreSQL environments.
+ Develop and maintain migration playbooks, cutover procedures, and validation checklists to standardize enterprise migration efforts.
+ Collaborate with Client application and internal infrastructure teams to coordinate testing, downtime planning, and post-migration performance validation.
**Cloud & Infrastructure Leadership**
+ Collaborate with Clients to Architect and support Google Cloud Platform database solutions - including AlloyDB, Cloud SQL Cloud Compute, and BigQuery integration.
+ Define Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards using Terraform and Ansible for repeatable, secure provisioning and configuration.
+ Partner with Client and Ensono cloud, security, and networking teams to ensure compliance with IAM, encryption, audit logging, and retention policies.
+ Drive capacity planning, cost optimization, and performance benchmarking across all supported cloud environments for the Client.
**Leadership & Project Delivery**
+ Provide technical leadership and direction for complex database migration and modernization projects.
+ Mentor DBA teams, review designs, and establish technical best practices for PostgreSQL, AlloyDB, and cloud databases.
+ Contribute to strategic planning for enterprise database modernization and automation initiatives.
+ Maintain comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and operational standards for the DBA organization.
**Preferred Knowledge & Added Value Areas: Oracle Database & GoldenGate**
+ Strong understanding of Oracle Database administration (11g-19c), PL/SQL, and Data Guard/RMAN principles.
+ Experience with Oracle GoldenGate for replication and data synchronization during migration and hybrid coexistence.
