Identify potential strategic data-related technology partners, evaluate and/or assess potential data-related tools and technologies. Work closely with 3rd party vendors to integrate selected packages.Recommend and evaluate new tools and methodologies.
Conduct proof of concept and evaluate new features available for Oracle or related Database technologies and perform cost benefit analysis as applicable.

Job Summary:
The Database Administrator is responsible maintaining systems, tuning, aiding in design and solving database issues for systems running SQL server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2012.
Job Responsibilities:
• Experience setting up backups and recovery scripts.
• Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur.
• Ability to create stored procedures to facilitate processing and maintenance.
• Experience working with very large databases.
• Ability to automate everyday tasks using stored procedures, PowerShell or other language.
• Experience with Mirroring, Logshipping, Service Broker, Partitioning, Change Data Capture, Clustering and other options for SQL Server.
• Understanding of tuning.
• Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities.
• Install and configure new SQL Server instances.
• Deploy database change scripts.
• When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes.
• Document the company's database environment.
• SSIS experience for loading data into systems (ETL).
• Experience maintaining SSAS.
• Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business's Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
Qualifications
BS in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
Strong T-SQL and SQL Server skills.
Experience working with large databases.

* Prepare & assist, or lead with analysis to support decision making processes of senior staff or IT partners

* Perform & maintain all documentation supporting effective change control, business continuity & sustainment of Database systems. Validating peer compliance and peer quality as well.
* Develop, communicate and lead implementation of solutions to Database Management problems of substantial scope and high complexity
* Collaborate with peers & IT Partners in execution of assigned duties
* Mentor entry & intermediate level Database talent
* Lead Implementation and support of long term technology strategy
* Accountable for accuracy and validity of solution design and documentation
* Participation in On-Call rotations or Shift work as required by specific role or assignment

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
* 5+ years experience with Oracle (11g to 19c), PostgreSQL
* 5+ years experience with Microsoft Azure
* Database Migration: Hands-on experience migrating databases from Oracle to PostgreSQL
* Experience handling on-call support
* Lead P1 (Priority 1) incident calls
* Participate in problem management and root cause analysis discussions
* Experience working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
* Ability to handle last-minute requests and urgent tasks from plant leadership
* Availability for planned weekend database upgrades Oracle/Postgres and maintenance activities
* Advanced knowledge of Enterprise RDBMS Technologies, architecture, implementation & support
* Advanced Operational capability of Enterprise RDBMS deployments
* Knowledge of at least two IT technology domains including infrastructure platforms, data management and database technologies, storage technologies, security frameworks and tools.
* Advanced Knowledge with data replication and/or disaster recovery capabilities preferred
* Advanced knowledge of Backup & Recovery techniques and technologies
