The position will also assist physicians in selection of practical application and technical factors. Radiographer Job Responsibilities: * Perform a variety of radiographic, mammographic, and fluoroscopic exams with mobile and stationary equipment as approved. * Set, adjust, manipulate, control and maintain a variety of complex electronic equipment to apply ionizing radiation to patients for diagnosis of disease using proper KVP, MA, exposure time and focal film distance. * Practice radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factor, to minimize radiation to patient, staff and self. * Explain the procedure to the patient. Instruct and assist patient in assuming physical position for exam. * Assist physicians in administering prescribed contrast media. Radiographer Education and Experience Requirements: * Completion of a 2-year approved Radiological Technology Program required. * Current license in the State of Connecticut required. * Registered, or registry eligible, with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists required. * Maintenance of appropriate CEU's to meet ARRT guidelines required. * CPR - Current AHA Healthcare Provider Certification / equivalent within 3 months of hire is required. * Approved vein puncture and lab procedures according to the Laboratory policies, if applicable, is preferred. * Approved computer registration according to the Admitting policies, if applicable, is preferred. * Minimum of 1-year practical experience performing related duties as a radiographer is preferred. Radiographer Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * High degree of technical aptitude with an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology. * Knowledge of computer keyboard, programs and menus. The position will also assist physicians in selection of practical application and technical factors. Radiographer Job Responsibilities: * Perform a variety of radiographic, mammographic, and fluoroscopic exams with mobile and stationary equipment as approved. * Set, adjust, manipulate, control and maintain a variety of complex electronic equipment to apply ionizing radiation to patients for diagnosis of disease using proper KVP, MA, exposure time and focal film distance. * Practice radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factor, to minimize radiation to patient, staff and self. * Explain the procedure to the patient. Instruct and assist patient in assuming physical position for exam. * Assist physicians in administering prescribed contrast media. Radiographer Education and Experience Requirements: * Completion of a 2-year approved Radiological Technology Program required. * Current license in the State of Connecticut required. * Registered, or registry eligible, with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists required. * Maintenance of appropriate CEU's to meet ARRT guidelines required. * CPR - Current AHA Healthcare Provider Certification / equivalent within 3 months of hire is required. * Approved vein puncture and lab procedures according to the Laboratory policies, if applicable, is preferred. * Approved computer registration according to the Admitting policies, if applicable, is preferred. * Minimum of 1-year practical experience performing related duties as a radiographer is preferred. Radiographer Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * High degree of technical aptitude with an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology. * Knowledge of computer keyboard, programs and menus.
