    MISSION COMMUNITY HOSPITAL JOB DESCRIPTION IMAGING TECHNOLOGIST LEVEL II The Level II Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing all diagnostic radiology procedures including fluoroscopic, portables, C-arm and limited special procedure examinations, consistent with ALARA and Title 17 recommendations. In addition, performs at least one of the following modalities: Mammography, Ultrasound, CAT Scan or Nuclear Medicine. This position will be primarily working with pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Major Responsibility Technical Skills The level II Technologist must have current knowledge of equipment, techniques, positioning and film processing to perform safe and diagnostic radiographs for interpretation. This position is also responsible for the timely completion of radiology examinations to comply with department and hospital standards specific to patient care, this includes interacting with patients, physicians, staff and visitors while providing patient care obligations. Radiation Safety The Level II Technologist is responsible to provide patients and staff, protection in accordance with hospital and state radiation standards and must provide prompt and accurate notification of equipment failure and/or related problems regarding the efficient operation of the department. Non-Technical Skills The Level II Technologist must be proficient in maintaining a smooth patient flow regarding patient transportation, processing, scheduling and appointment changes, x-ray master jacket preparation and terminal digit filing. LEADERSHIP ROLE Communication It is the primary responsibility of the technologist to communicate with staff all patient related issues during shift changes. The technologist is responsible for notifying the supervisor when supply levels are low and need to be re-ordered to insure that adequate levels are maintained.Imaging Technologist Level II 2 Professional Behavior 1. The Level II Technologist must maintain professional behavior with patients and staff at all times and is required to comply with JCAHO standards as determined by MCH Administration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS LEVEL II The Level II position must have the mandatory technical skills or licensure to perform one or more of the following modalities. Mammography Current CRT and/or ARRT-M. Ultrasound Current CRT and/or ARDMS Eligible. CAT Scan Current CRT and necessary CAT Scan experience with proven technical skills & knowledge. Nuclear Medicine Current CRT and/or CNM Nuclear Medicine License. QUALIFICATIONS GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: High School Graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited school of radiology. ARRT Preferred Current CRT and Fluoroscopy license state of California. Current license for Ultrasound, Mammography and Nuclear Medicine, experience and technical skill knowledge is necessary to qualify for the CAT Scan modality.
