Responsibilities
Prepare patients and operatory for dental procedures.
Expanded Function Duties:
Take vital signs (blood pressure /pulse readings - take and record)
Placing or removing retraction cord
Removing sutures
Drying a root canal
Applying topical fluoride; applying fluoride varnish
Placing or removing a rubber dam
Removing or placing a periodontal dressing
Preparing and fitting stainless steel crowns
Taking alginate impressions for intraoral appliances
Placing or removing a matrix band
Preparing temporary crowns
Cementing temporary crowns or restorations
Performing vitality tests
