Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
Chairside assisting during dental procedures

Supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
Providing chairside support to Dental Provider.
Monitoring and reinforcing patient comfort.
Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions as directed by Dental Provider.
Take Blood pressure reading.
Expose, develop and mount dental radiographs.
Aid and monitor Instrument Sterilization, Tray set up, Operatory disinfecting and Barrier Protection.
Restocking of dental materials and supplies.
Patient health history review and prophylactic coverage status.
Access EMR for prescription list, lab results, and other medical documentation as needed to provide care.
Chart documentation as instructed by provider.
Pouring and care of Laboratory Impressions.
Completion of Lab RX as instructed by provider.
Maintenance of Dental Hand pieces, Equipment and Units.
Daily set up and shut down of dental delivery system.
Receiving dental supply shipment.
Take Impressions for Diagnostic and Opposing Models.
Hold Anterior Matrices.
Apply topical Fluoride after Scaling and Polish.
Inventory control.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of current dental principles.
Ability to read, write, understand, and spell English and medical terminology correctly.
Basic Computer proficiency in Windows environment
Typing 35 WPM.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
CPR certification (or ability to obtain within two weeks)
Dental Board of California Approved: Infection Control and OSHA course certification
Dental Board of California Mandatory: Dental Practice Act/ Law and Ethics certification (or ability to obtain within one year)
Dental Board of California Approved: Radiation Safety Course certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in Dental care facility.
Bilingual (Spanish) skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Chairside assisting during dental procedures

Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control guidelines
Requirements:
