Performs professional administrative management and support duties to support the department's daily operations; assists in program planning and development; interprets, monitors, and analyzes information regarding operating policies and procedures; administers budgets; and coordinates academic and/or staff personnel matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Course Planning and Administration:
Assist in the implementation and administration of continuing dental education courses.
Manage the online course registration and database system, Learning Stream.
Maintain all CE course files.
Prepare and compile all course materials, including handouts and course evaluations.
Run and compile results from course evaluations to be forwarded to course presenters.
Facilitate CE courses when required, including setting up audiovisual equipment, monitoring and hosting online courses, monitoring food service, gathering course evaluations, and issuing credit letters.
Assist individuals with registrations for courses as needed.
Prepare credit letters for all courses.
Marketing:
Assist in engaging all stakeholders in School of Dentistry news and events through various general web, print-based, and social media outlets.
Assist in the preparation and editing of marketing and promotional materials, such as target mailings of course brochures and postcards.
Assist in the online promotion of CE courses and alumni events through digital communication and social media.
Financial:
Settle financial transactions by paying invoices to vendors associated with all CE courses and alumni events.
Monitor the budget and prepare purchase orders in Banner associated with all courses and events, and office operations.
Prepare and submit check requests and payroll authorizations for all courses, alumni events, and office operations.
Maintain a log of checks and purchase orders and verify payments received.
Reconcile all credit card transactions with a monthly P-card report.
Prepare profit/loss statements for each course and event.
General Administration:
Enter alumni attendance for events and courses into Raiser's Edge.
Prepare monthly mailings to alumni for milestone birthdays.
Monitor and respond to emails sent to the department as needed.
Order and maintain all needed office supplies and stationery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education -A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or 18 months to four years of work experience in a related field.
Experience - Five years to seven years (Equivalent combination of education and employment).
Preferred Qualifications
Five to seven years' experience in office administration.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Computer skills: proficiency with MS Office.
Experience producing reports.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Physical Requirements
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Work Environment
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.

Position Summary
A Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) performs a variety of dental assisting duties, within compliance of state regulations, to promote quality dental care for patients in a reduced stress, comfortable environment. The Dental Assistant (DA) assists in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients by performance of routine and delegated duties per standards and policies. The DA scrubs for surgical procedures; cleans instruments and rooms; monitors inventory and stocks OR rooms. Works closely with the dentists in the provision of excellent patient care.
Essential Functions
* Assist and anticipate needs of the dentist and anesthesia provider as it relates to instruments, sutures, sponges and supplies per technique, procedure and special requirements.
* Prepare for dental surgical cases by: Picking supplies and equipment for the procedure; Ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are available; Maintaining inventory and stock room.
* Familiar with procedures performed.
* Know and understand dentist preferences.
* Provide care based on the age-related needs of the pediatric and adolescent patient, with consideration of their developmental/psychosocial needs, environmental safety, educational needs, communication style, and level of understanding.
* Assist with patient transfer from bed to gurney.

* Follows the surgery center's manufacturer's, and CDC guidelines for decontamination and sterilization.
* Takes x-rays.
* Clean and check x-ray equipment.
* Mixes cement and other materials as required.
* Handles suction hand-pieces and air/water syringes.
* Assures delivery of all specimens to the RN Circulator in the room.
* Stocks and cleans rooms between cases and at the end of schedule.
* Assists with turnover of the OR.
