Job Description:
Part-Time Dental Assistant opportunity in New London - Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays!. The position offers healthcare benefits, PTO and 403B.
Supports the dentist in delivering primary dental care, prepares equipment and workplace for use, and contributes to supportive atmosphere for dental patients. Uses chair side, four handed dentistry techniques.
Prepares office and treatment areas each day.
Performs pre/post treatment set-up/clean-up procedures for each patient in accordance with all Agency protocols
Prepares patients for dental procedures.
Assists dentist at chair side, using 4-handed techniques.
Exhibits appropriate knowledge of instruments and techniques utilized for all procedures.
Performs independent patient services, as directed, including patient triage, radiographs, impressions, suture removal, temporary fillings, recement crowns, laboratory work.
Maintains dental facility, treatment areas, equipment and instruments in proper working order.
Maintains adequate inventory of dental supplies.
Strictly follow safety and infection control standards at all times, including appropriate use of PPE.
Takes quality radiographs, as prescribed. Process, mount and label properly
Complies with radiation safety standards for staff and patients.
Provides excellent customer service at all times, with a focus on quality of care and teamwork that focuses on the needs of the department and/or the business of the Agency.
Complies with Agency mandated in-service training workshops (EOC, Working Safely, Abuse, etc.). Confidentiality of patient and business information is a requirement. Full access to patient medical records and encounter data. Confidentiality must be maintained according to policies.

Requirements:
High School Diploma (or equivalent)
Graduate of accredited Dental Assisting School or two years dental experience in general dentistry.
Certified in Dental Radiology and Infection Control by Dental Assisting National Board (DANB)

Knowledge/interest in providing care to diverse patient population
Written and oral bilingual fluency in language spoken by our patient population (for example, English/Spanish or English/Polish) strongly preferred.

Dental assistant/receptionist job in Danbury, CT
Attention all Dental Assistants, we are calling on you to partner with us to complete dental exams, treatment, and X-rays to our Military Service members.
We will primarily work weekends, with some occasional weekdays in the State of Connecticut on an "as needed basis".
We provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the following:
U.S. Army Reserve (USAR)
Army National Guard (ARNG)
U.S. Navy Reserve (USNR)
U.S. Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES)
U.S. Coast Guard Reserve (USCGR)
Air National Guard (ANG)
U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAFR)
Responsibilities:
Provide dental services in a mobile environment.
Provide Digital x-Rays (BW & PANO).
Provide sterilization of instruments.
Requirements
Active Dental Assistant Certification in the state (CDA, RDA, EDDA, EFDA)
Active Radiology Certification
CPR/BLS Certification
Comfortable with 4-handed chair-side assisting
Experience with sterilization
Experience with basic administrative functions
Experience working with military - preferred
Proficient with computer programs
Must have weekend availability
