The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) is seeking a highly qualified Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II) to serve within the Network Management Services section of the Enterprise Network. The Network Engineer works with other Network Specialists and Network Associates, as well as Telecommunications Engineers in the Network Engineering Unit.
A successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency with networking components such as routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and wireless networks. The incumbent will work on engineering network solutions, assist with architecture and design, network planning and projects, day-to-day maintenance, operational tasks, and respond to incidents.
Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.
Sponsorship: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship. CalPERS does not participate in E-Verify for employment authorization purposes.
