1984

In 1984, Scottsdale Shea Medical Center opened to serve north Scottsdale.

1986

In 1986, the District Board leased hospital operations to an established medical facility provider and for the next decade, District revenues ran the hospital.

1993

Coachella Valley’s only designated trauma center was added in 1993 and serves more than 8,000 square miles of Southeastern California.

1999

Since 1999, more than $70 million has been allocated through a best-practices, grant administration department.

2001

In 2001, the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center opened on the Shea campus.

2007

In 2007, Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Center opened north of Loop 101.

2014

In 2014, one year after affiliating, John C. Lincoln Health Network and Scottsdale Healthcare officially merged.

2017

In 2017, Desert Regional Medical Center joined with Hi-Desert Medical Center and JFK Memorial Hospital.

2019

In January 2019, two residents from the newly annexed area were appointed to serve on the Desert Healthcare District and Foundation Board of Directors.
