Project Overview: Bechtel is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner on the Northrop Grumman team to deliver the Sentinel Program, which is modernizing the ground-based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. Bechtel's scope of service in Sentinel's current Engineering & Manufacturing Development phase focuses on the ground infrastructure component of the program. A major contractor for the United States and allied governments, Bechtel has handled such efforts as chemical weapons demilitarization projects, missile-defense, infrastructure, base operations, procurement and project management, and restoration and recovery spanning half a century. For more information on the Sentinel program: ****************************************** Job Summary: This position is for a Smart Plant S3 D Designer/Engineer who will prepare 3D designs associated with DOD and USAF projects. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. This role will specifically support the USAF Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase. The GBSD program is the weapon system replacement for the Minuteman III missile systems. Our team is supporting Northrop Grumman and the USAF's nuclear deterrence mission to modernize this ground-based leg of the nuclear triad. This position is responsible for direct production of design work by Bechtel as well as for coordinating the scope and integration of work. #LI-SNH Major Responsibilities: * Building layout in Smart Plant S3D model environment. * Modeling of piping, HVAC and equipment in the 3D model environment. * Preparation of drawings/documents for Floor plans. * Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc. with other physical related disciplines. * Interface with stress and pipe support engineers, construction, and suppliers during the preparation of designs for the purpose of model/space control, etc. * Perform coordination review of specifications and other documents prepared by others Education and Experience Requirements: * Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: * Hands-on experience using Smart Plant S3D. * Must be able to pass the requirements to receive a secret clearance. * Candidate should possess a knowledge of OSHA, NFPA and piping codes. * Hands-on experience using Smart Plant S3D and drawing generation. * Knowledge & application of International Building Code, ASME B31.3 for piping, plumbing codes and ASHRAE standards. * Preferred: Previous Bechtel experience. This position focuses on Plant Design & Piping (PD&P), 3D modeling, piping layouts, HVAC coordination, equipment arrangement, and multidisciplinary integration using SmartPlant 3D (S3D). Designers with experience in large industrial, nuclear, petrochemical, or complex engineered facilities are strongly encouraged to apply. This full-time onsite position offers a 9x80 schedule (every other Friday off), paid overtime, relocation assistance, and the opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant infrastructure modernization effort.
