Department/Unit Summary The Critical Care Supervisor works as an advocate for the physical and emotional wellbeing of both the patient and nursing staff on the Intensive Care Unit. He/she provides orientation, direction, training, educational development, coaching and mentoring to staff in accordance with goals set by the Department Director. They will also assist with competency verification, performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered, quality assurance studies and assists with the implementation of quality initiatives and measures. The Supervisor serves as a resource to staff, other departments and external contacts.
