Disability Pride did not become a full month until 2015 -- when Mayor Bill De Blasio designated July as Disability Pride Month in New York state to celebrate ADA's 25th anniversary.

2020

The United States Department of Health and Human Services estimates that by 2020, the number of fulltime DSPs must grow to 1.2 million to support the 1.4million individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with needed residential, vocational, and other supports.
