Formerly, Williams was a managing director with Huron Legal, where he led the Discovery Group and was instrumental in integrating business practices to enhance capabilities and improve synergies across business units. Before joining Huron, Williams was a senior vice president with Axiom Global, where he led the Managed Discovery Business with operations in the United States, Belfast and India. Williams was previously a corporate and finance partner with DLA Piper for almost 17 years where he was a key leader in the firm’s international expansion into Asia and the Middle East; he spent 4 years in China and served as managing partner in Beijing, and opened the firm’s office in Doha, Qatar. Williams holds a JD from Columbia University School of Law, an MBA from the University of Maryland/Beijing University for International Business & Economics, a MSc in International Relations from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Illinois. He earned a Project Management Certification from DePaul University and completed the DLA Piper Harvard Leadership Program at Harvard Business School.
