This critical role involves receiving and broadcasting information through telephone, radio, and several computer systems to ensure safety of officers as well as the public. Dispatchers are required to maintain records, files, and information for prompt dissemination to field units and departmental personnel. They are the vital communications link to the residents, the police department, fire department and other essential services.
