The Advanced Technology Group (ATG) is the research division of the company. ATG's mission is to look ahead, deliver insights, and innovate technological solutions that will fuel Dolby's continued growth. What You'll Do
As a senior research leader in image and video processing, you will shape the future of Dolby's imaging technologies by focusing on three core areas:
Cutting-Edge Research
* Lead hands-on research at the intersection of classical image processing and modern AI methods.
* Invent and advance next-generation image/video capture technologies (sensors, camera signal processing, 3D spatial capture).
* Drive projects that enhance image delivery, analysis, rendering, and content creation technologies.
* Collaborate with global research teams to set research directions and fuel Dolby's licensing and cloud businesses.
Mentorship & Team Development
* Guide and mentor a high-performing team of researchers in image processing, computer vision, graphics, and content enhancement.
* Foster an innovative, transparent, and results-oriented research culture.
* Develop and nurture junior researchers into independent contributors and future leaders.
Technology Strategy & Collaboration
* Define research roadmaps in partnership with ATG leaders and align resources to global initiatives.
* Work closely with Dolby's Business Groups to translate research breakthroughs into real-world products.
* Influence Dolby's long-term technology strategy through collaboration with product managers, program managers, and engineering teams worldwide.
What You Bring
* Ph.D. + 8+ years of corporate research experience in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
* Proven expertise and publication record in image sensors, lenses, camera signal processing, spectral/3D modeling, geometry, and calibration.
* Deep knowledge of AI and machine learning, including:
* Network architectures, deployment modes, data augmentation, and performance analysis.
* Generative models (diffusion, autoregressive, autoencoders).
* Self-supervised and contrastive learning.
* Applications in vision, audio, or multimodal domains (e.g., source separation, segmentation, synthesis, captioning, language models).
* Experience with GPU/CPU architectures, embedded systems, and SoC platforms for ML/AI deployment.
* Strong record of innovation, patents, and publications in top conferences (NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, CVPR, etc.).
* Skilled in C/C++ and Python with hands-on research and prototyping experience.
* Proven ability to manage, mentor, and inspire research teams.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills with a passion for turning research into products with global impact.
The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $238,900-$292,500, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training. Chemistry Research Interns conduct research which advances our foundational knowledge in grape and wine chemistry. Students gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art analytical equipment and method development, enhancing the skills and experience necessary for graduate school and/or future careers in R&D. Interns participate in team projects that elucidate chemical metrics to improve our commercial processes, product quality, and predictive sensory capabilities.
Develop and refine methodologies to characterize aroma and mouthfeel properties of grapes and wines.
Establish relevance of chemical metrics by modeling their relationship to sensory and grape and wine quality attributes.

Plant Breeding
Interns support the characterization of a wide variety of grapevine phenotypic traits including bud fruitfulness, cluster architecture, cluster and berry size, berry color and canopy structure.
Tasks include field data collection, collection of tissues for genetic analysis, fruit sampling for maturity and compositional analyses, and the determination of vine yield components at harvest.
Interns become familiar with a large number of diverse grape species and their specific attributes utilized for the genetic improvement of wine grape cultivars.
Viticulture Interns
Interns assist with a wide variety of vineyard experiments involving irrigation, canopy management, mechanization, spatial variability, and the application of data analytics for vineyard management.
Tasks include field data collection, operation of sensors and field instrumentation for measuring vine water status and leaf gas exchange, fruit sampling and the determination of vine yield components at harvest.
Interns are exposed to a wide variety of commercial wine grape growing practices, grape varieties, and wine grape production regions in California.
What You'll Need
Currently enrolled at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree OR have obtained a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in the following areas: School of Life Sciences, School of Agricultural Sciences, School of Engineering, or Ag Business Degree (Social sciences degrees are not eligible for this internship, such as psychology, sociology, etc).
Available for the entire duration of the internship program area(s) of interest.
Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. The Research / Process Technology Internship is a unique program in partnership with universities. The program offers 2-to-6-month placement opportunities based out of E. & J. Gallo's subsidiary, California Natural Colors located in Fresno, California. This internship provides the opportunity for Master's and PhD students to apply their advanced knowledge in natural product chemistry within Cal Color's Research and Development department. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an industrial research environment and increase your skills for future employment.
Specific training and project work undertaken by interns may include the following, depending on available placement(s):
Produce and evaluate the chemical characteristics of grape seed extracts and natural colors.
Produce and test the physical properties of emulsions.
Implement rapid chemical methods to measure and monitor bench, pilot, and production scale processes.
Conduct organic synthesis of target molecules.
Use HPLC to analyze various natural products.
Use other separation techniques (e.g., adsorption elution, membrane filtration, etc.)
Use computer software to statistically analyze data.
Assist in the set-up of laboratory, pilot scale, or production experiments
What You'll Need

Working knowledge of the chemistry and physics of color and light.
Hands-on experience with organic synthesis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and experience managing multiple assignments. Self-motivated with a passion for research.
Willingness to work at heights of up to 50 feet, on tops of tanks inspecting wine surfaces when necessary.

Position Overview:
The Advanced Product Team at Ceribell's Research and Development Department is looking for a motivated and experienced EEG Research Engineer! The EEG Research Engineer will assist with EEG data collection, prototype assembly, and validation testing of next-generation neurotechnology systems. This role requires a strong background in collecting EEG data from patients and simulated data (or other EXG modalities). On-site presence is required at Ceribell's Sunnyvale office in California and is expected to last between 3 and 6 months.
What you'll do:
Set up and operate EEG recording systems for in-house and partner studies.
Prepare electrodes, headgear, and participant workstations following study protocols
Aid in the creation and effective execution of study protocols, data collection, and analysis.
Create and perform test procedures to verify functionality, performance, and reliability.
Generate reports and associated documentation for regulatory submissions.
Assemble, test, and maintain hardware prototypes (EEG amplifiers, headgear, connectors, enclosures).
Perform bench-level tests (signal integrity, timing, accuracy, power measurements) using oscilloscopes and DAQs)
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Neuroengineering, or other relevant field.
1-3 years of experience as a Biomedical engineer or relevant experience.
Familiarity with signal acquisition tools (BioSemi, OpenBCI, g.tec, or similar)
Experience collecting EEG data and the ability to verify data quality and integrity.
