JJ Gangi is a Chief Technology Officer at Modal and is based in San Francisco, California. He has worked as Senior Software Developer at Bel Air Assisted Living, Engineering Manager at Agero, and Senior Software Architect at Frederick Realty. JJ studied at Kimberton Waldorf School between 1991 and 1999, Johns Hopkins between 2005 and 2009, and Wyndcroft School/The between 1999 and 2001.

Co-Founder of Swoop, an Enterprise SaaS solution for the roadside assistance industry. Raised $3.3M from investors like Founder Collective, Slow Ventures, SV Angel, and Entree Capital, before successfully exiting to Agero, the largest B2B provider of roadside solutions in the US. Recruited an incredible team of do-ers and builders that was focused on increasing transparency and customer experience for all roadside stakeholders.

Prior to Swoop, spent three years at TCV focused primarily on internet and consumer services growth investments. Sourced and led three consumer internet investments totaling $156M of invested capital including Dollar Shave Club ($1Bn exit), Minted, and Swagbucks. Primarily responsible for coverage of public holdings, including Facebook, Netflix, EA, and Zillow.

Prior to TCV, was an analyst in the Technology Investment Banking Group at Morgan Stanley in New York City. While at Morgan Stanley, worked with companies in the internet, software, and communications equipment sectors on a variety of transactions including public equity offerings, debt offerings, and strategic M&A assignments. Involved in the IPO of HomeAway and the sale of GSI Commerce to eBay.

Received a B.S. in Applied Mathematics & Statistics with a double major in Economics and a minor in Entrepreneurship & Management from Johns Hopkins University.
