Mr. Swartz was appointed MYR Group Inc.’s (MYR Group) President and Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 2017; and assumes complete profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for MYR Group and its subsidiaries who collectively achieved 2019 revenues of $2.071 billion. Mr. Swartz also chairs the MYR Group executive committee. Prior to being appointed CEO, Mr. Swartz served as MYR Group’s executive vice president and chief operating officer for seven years. He was responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the organization, as well as P&L accountability for MYR Group’s Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) divisions. He was instrumental in the development and inception of project management and productivity improvement programs as well as in the formulation of several corporate safety initiatives. He spearheaded Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc.’s. (Sturgeon Electric) participation in the Occupational Health and Safety Administration’s (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) for the Mobile Workforce Demonstration Program, for which Sturgeon Electric has achieved and maintained STAR status since 2008. Mr. Swartz has more than 38 years of industry experience and began his career in field operations, and which has evolved into a variety of senior management positions including vice president of Sturgeon Electric’s C&I division, vice president of Sturgeon Electric’s T&D – Midwest division, group vice president C&I and T&D – West, and MYR Group’s executive vice president and chief operating officer.
