The electrician performs installation of electrical and systems construction elements of C3M projects. This role is primarily a Washington DC position, however traveling and interacting with multiple project teams across various locations throughout the U.S. is also available. **Responsibilities** + Perform electrical installations on Transportation and/or Industrial Construction projects + Provide input and coordinate with other trades on each project + Maintain safety and quality standards on all installations and tasks + Ensure code compliance by inspecting and testing electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards or needed repairs + Maintain positive personal contact and relationships with management, staff, craft and the local unions + Ensures that all activities are consistent with project plans, policies and procedures + Responsible for assembly, installation, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems. + Prepares work area for installation of equipment. + Installs electrical components. + Connects wiring and equipment as per code and job specification. + Operates equipment only if trained and certified to operate. (Note: Powder activated tools, and JLG lifts and other operations that may require certification and training before operating). + Sets up and operates tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers and cable vacuum systems. + Be able to read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified. + Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances per drawings or plans. + Secure and lock up equipment after use. + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. **Basic Qualifications** + Minimum of 5 years' experience working as electrician for transportation and/or industrial electrical and systems projects + Journeymen's Electrical License or equivalent (Preferred) + An innovator, always in pursuit of the next best way + Proficient knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and construction safety requirements + Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills. + Strong work ethic and desire to work in a team environment to help grow the organization. + Ability to promote teamwork and open communication on the project site. + Highly motivated with strong skills in time management and prioritization. + Creative and results-oriented with a sense of urgency. + Alignment to C3M's Standards of Excellence: Self-Motivated, Results Oriented, Adaptable, Team Player, Accountable, Ethical, Innovative, Resilient, Builds Relationships + Current IBEW Member in Good Standing or ability to join the IBEW + Experience in one or more of the following Preferred: + Overhead Catenary System Installation + Automatic Train Control System Installation + Rail Communications Systems Installation + Rail System Station and Facilities Electrical and Systems Installation + Water/Wastewater Facilities Electrical and Systems Installation + Industrial and/or Complex Facilities Electrical and Systems Installation The work environment and requirements described below are representative of those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. **The Physical Side of the Role:** This is an active, hands-on role.
