Primary Duties:
Electrical Department Reliability is generally improved through preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding plant electrical controls and distribution systems. The individual must:
Support and follow company safety procedures with focus on zero injuries.
Keep work areas and equipment clean and safe.
Follow and comply with all Safe Quality Food (SQF), HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance as assigned, including cleaning and lubricating in order to maintain the proper working order of Electrical components for all machinery and equipment up to 480V.
Actively support the Stanislaus Food Products electrical preventative maintenance program.
Effectively and accurately troubleshoot and make routine adjustments and repairs to DC and AC systems including (but not limited to) contactors, relays, VFDs, starters, motors, rectifiers, brakes, pneumatic systems, sensors, controls systems, and PLC components to maintain production and maintenance schedules.
Monitor repairs and validate that the problem has been solved.
Own the problem until resolved with a focus on doing it right the first time.
Focus on quality of workmanship by doing the job right the first time and be accountable for results.
Assist in the planning process by identifying parts and work required using AMMS to enter notifications.
Prioritize work based on business needs.
Maintain a high level of urgency in response to tasks assigned.
Participate in the Breakdown Elimination process to reduce the frequency of breakdowns and improve equipment reliability.
Make decisions that are “best for the business” with regards to maintenance costs and overall productivity.
Maintain continuity among work teams by communicating needs, actions, irregularities, and continuing department improvements.
Use blueprints, diagrams, centerlines, and OEM manuals to aid in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
Follow Maintenance Standard Procedures and seek to improve machinery specific procedures where possible.
Share knowledge and experience with other departments including dedicated training as assigned.
Work overtime as required to achieve production and maintenance schedules.
Perform other duties that the Team Leader or Maintenance Manager might require.
Qualifications:

Reassembles, tests, and adjusts equipment for safe and proper operation. Performs work on “hot” lines as required.
Replaces coils, resistors, rheostats, relays, etc.
Adjusts contactors, relays, bus rigging, etc.
Reconnects terminal leads, panels boards and distribution feeders.
In emergencies, shunts out defective coils in order to get equipment back in operation.
Changes DC motor characteristics by shunting DC coils, etc.
Installs conduit, fittings, switches, controls, and fixtures, and wires and connects all types of electrical equipment as required for new installations or replacement of facilities.
Makes all required splices and connector joints. Adjusts all new equipment for proper operating characteristics.
Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner and keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Clean up all work areas.
Performs any other duty supervisor assigns.
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 3 years of electrical work experience or successful completion of an electronics curriculum from an accredited program.
Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and drawings.
Must have experience trouble shooting and repairing electrical problems.
Computer experience is desired, previous PLC experience required.
Must be able to wire motor control circuits and push-button circuits.

The Opportunity
Halo Industries is seeking a senior engineering technician to contribute to the build and test for Halo's proprietary material processing equipment. This person will be detail-oriented with the ability to identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues. The candidate will work in a small team to bring new products from concept to production release.
Job Duties
Read schematic, wiring, layout, and assembly drawings of industrial tools and PCAs.
Hand-build small quantities of prototype PC board assemblies (SMD/0603 package size).
Modify prototype through-hole PC board assemblies, including component changes, and trace cuts and jumps.
Construct prototype cable assemblies, including wire and cabling prep, and soldering and crimping of connector contacts.
Build and wire prototype industrial semiconductor processing tools. Includes build and test of control cabinets and panels, sensors, electro-mechanical devices, and electro-optical devices.
Build and modify experimental electronic, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical devices and test fixtures for laboratory proof-of-concept projects.
Use of electronic hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, terminals, and contact crimpers.
Use of electronic test equipment such as multimeters, signal generators, scopes, etc.
Use of mechanical hand tools such as screwdrivers, thread taps and dies, socket sets, wrenches, etc.
Use of basic machine tools such drills, sanders, saws, rotary tools, etc.
Communicate effectively with other team members and cross-functional groups.
Contribute to process, service, and hardware improvements.
Assist and mentor junior technicians.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma with 6-10 years of experience or Associate's degree
Experience with mechanical and industrial capital equipment. Semiconductor equipment and laser equipment experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with PLCs and industrial automation
Experience with the troubleshooting of prototype and production industrial automation tools to resolve bring-up and production issues
Experience with lasers and optics and optical devices
Experience in a cleanroom environment
Experience with pneumatics
Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint is a plus
