We are seeking a commercial estimating professional for the mechanical industries. The ideal candidate must be capable of assembling an accurate estimate and a corresponding detailed proposal for the customer with minimal oversight. With our geographic footprint expanding, this position could be based in any of our locations and /or a remote based position.
**Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:**
+ Be able to accurately identify, quantify and record piping and equipment associated with the various mechanical systems
+ Review all bid documents and seek clarifications during the bid process to ensure an accurate bid is assembled
+ Budgeting, unit pricing, pipe sizing, general code compliance and an understanding of general layout of Plumbing, Piping and HVAC Duct Systems
+ Concurrently bid/manage multiple projects. Create a detailed estimate with appropriate material, labor & subcontractor selections; alternates and unit pricing when required; and corresponding proposal to identify the bidder's work scope
+ Survey potential projects and identify best solutions for pricing
+ Evaluation of vendor and subcontractor proposal to ensure compliance with the job requirements and specifications
+ Estimating HVAC and plumbing projects and change orders to comply with corporate profit guidelines and project requirements
+ Provide conceptual design and pricing to support conceptual design for both HVAC and plumbing
+ Complete system take-offs in accordance with current B&K processes.
+ Consider and evaluate potential value engineering options and costs with the B&K team
+ Develop project general conditions and other estimate scope summaries, schedules and/or other tools and deliverables as necessary
+ Participate when necessary in bid finalization and review
Supervisory / Budgetary / External communications responsibilities

+ Internal and external communication responsibility to the appropriate contacts.

They will be responsible for all aspects of project estimating for mainly offshore assets typically up to $100 million. Key Accountabilities:

Prepare and maintain Basis of Estimate (BOE) for each project.
Support Business Development / Portfolio Management Team (e.g., early screening estimates)
Support and validate Change Management requests
Establish craft labour rates and productivity and location factors, for estimating purposes
Governance
Provide estimating assurance to total project cost estimates along with auditing contractor and engineering estimates to ensure appropriate cost target setting
Provide estimating support and assurance to TARs and Outages
Ability to support / facilitate Monte Carlo type cost risk assessments to support target setting and project approvals and communicating the results
Process
Maintain compliance with bp published guidelines and common processes as it relates to estimating
Develop & maintain site estimating tools, templates, procedures, and guidelines
Support team with stage gated process and deliverables
Work with Project Team resources to complete all closeout requirements, including lessons learned exercises
Direct third-party estimating resources working on behalf of bp
Provide project estimating training to non-practitioners
Provide coaching and mentoring to other estimators
Support Site Projects improvement work-streams including: building and developing capability; standardising and embedding our processes; modernizing our systems; and driving performance
Benchmarking
Maintain and utilize historical cost database and apply learnings for improved project performance

Essential Education/Experience:
Bachelor's / University degree in an engineering, finance, or business discipline or equivalent professional experience

Demonstrated strong organization, teamwork, and communication skills
Familiarity of all project controls disciplines

Cost Estimator
The Cost Estimator will support the cost tracking, status reporting, performance analysis, forecasting and project baseline change control. The Cost Estimator will also support project budget owners across the project(s) with direct reporting to the TerraPower Cost Manager. The ideal candidate should have proficiency in Microsoft Excel and will collaborate with various project stakeholders including the project manager, project account engineers, group and system leads, as well as other teams and/or individuals and stakeholders while supporting overall Natrium Project Management.
Responsibilities
• Utilize EVMS principles and other project management best practices while supporting project manager and team group leads in the execution of defined scope and deliverables
• Support month-end Earned Value reporting process including assessing of BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, SPI, CPI, EAC, BAC, and VAC for the Natrium project
• Perform cost estimate data analysis in conjunction with project team inputs and trend projections to validate and/or revise Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC) costs.
• Obtain accurate and current pricing information from databases, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors to be utilized in cost estimates.
• Conduct cost risk analyses and assessments; identifies high-risk issues that could impact project success and recommend solutions.
• Produce Monthly Project Status Report that tracks and communicates overall project work performance in terms of scope, schedule, budget, and risk
• Assist group leads and project manager in developing and maintaining the resource loaded master project schedule in Microsoft Project
• Regularly update and provide progress reports, layouts, and publication of the master schedule
• Assist with project change control for changes affecting baseline budget, scope or schedule which exceed established thresholds
• Lead improvement initiatives
• Support and manage Natrium project-specific processes and process improvements
Key Qualifications and Skills
• Ability to adapt-to and rapidly learn new software and processes. Demonstrated experience learning and becoming proficient with new software may be acceptable in lieu of specific software experience.
• Demonstrated affinity for understanding key objective and intent and then working with stakeholders and software tools to improve a process or system to make it more efficient.
• Bachelor's degree in technical field, or equivalent project controls experience.
• 5-10 years experienced on large development project or Department of Energy (DOE) type projects.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and build positive working relationships.
• Strong problem identification and resolution skill.

This person will be part of the Project Controls team which is responsible for determining the cost and value of the projects C&I takes on. Responsibilities include:
Prepare cost estimates and schedules for industrial clients in refining, chemical, distilled spirits, and various other industries.
Transfer events into a sequential work schedule using software with minor direction.
Input data into appropriate software accurately and perform analysis for estimates and schedules.
Translate cost and schedule information into cost reports and cash flows.
The Senior Cost Estimator/Scheduler will identify change, scope, and quantity variances.
Prints, reviews, assembles, and compiles estimates and prepares designated portions of budgets as directed by senior personnel.
Uses effective communication systems to communicate and coordinate project-related information with other C&I personnel, clients, and vendors.
Creates manual and computerized schedules.
Requirements:
Minimum requirements:
Associate's degree in a business-related field such as accounting, business, engineering, construction, or related field and twelve years of related experience.
Knowledge of computer programs such as Icarus, Primavera, and Microsoft Project.
Must be proficient in Microsoft software such as Word and Excel.

**Job Title: Estimator**
The Estimator will be responsible for estimating contract work, projecting and controlling project costs, tracking and analyzing all project costs. The individual will be responsible for representing the company. This position will work closely with Project Managers, Designers, and general contractors.
**Essential Duties / Responsibilities:**

+ Complete the estimate take-off, within time deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
+ Attend pre-bid or team meetings and understand the complete scope of work required.
+ Accurately define project requirements.
+ Obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
+ Responsible for collection and distribution of all bid documents.
+ Prepare project estimates by studying blueprints, specifications, scope of work, schedule, and any other materials requested by the customer, taking into account possible unforeseen events and inclement weather.
+ Work with VP of Sprinkler Operations to develop estimating spreadsheets and instruct Project Managers in the use of the spreadsheets as needed.
+ Ensure smooth and timely project turnover from Estimating to Project Management.
+ Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
+ Prepare reports as needed and distribute to necessary personnel.
+ Ensure all cost estimates submitted are as accurate as possible.
+ Assist in determining resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints in alignment with company goals and objectives.
+ Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned projects so that they are completed on time and on budget.
+ Work with clients to brainstorm creative solutions to their problems and to ensure their needs are met through our customized solutions
+ Provide liaison support to CEO/President, VP of Sprinkler Operations, Project Managers, and external client interface support.
+ Assist field operations with estimate after bid award.
+ Read and analyzing job cost reports taking appropriate action as needed.
