We welcome candidates who can contribute to the excellence of our academic community. **Description** Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta is seeking a full-time faculty position in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the Assistant Professor level. Responsibilities include the patient care, didactic education and clinical teaching of residents, and research. The position includes responsibilities at Grady Memorial Hospital, The Emory Clinic, Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown Emory, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. The candidate should have an interest in major oral and maxillofacial surgery with a particular interest in trauma management and is expected to actively participate in the clinical and research activities. The Emory University Hospitals are tertiary care and quaternary academic medical centers while Grady Memorial Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta are designated Level I trauma centers. The individual will be expected to participate in the Emory oral and maxillofacial faculty practice. Collaborative opportunities are available with the School of Medicine, School of Public Health, CDC, Yerkes Regional Primate Center and Georgia Institute of Technology. The position requires a DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited US or Canadian dental school and completion of a CODA-approved oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program. Other degrees such as MD, PhD are valuable, but not required. The candidate should be board-eligible or certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Candidates must also be eligible for an unrestricted Georgia dental (and medical license), Georgia dental anesthesia license, and DEA permit. This position offers the opportunity to help develop a diverse and challenging academic oral and maxillofacial surgery curriculum, mentor residents and participate in professional collaboration and leadership development activities. Candidates need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to relate to groups at all levels within the organization, including office staff, faculty, senior leadership; must display initiative, a positive attitude, flexibility and commitment to the division/department goals and objectives; must be committed to the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct. This administrative faculty physician reports directly to the Senior Director of Clinical Services (SDCS). Job Description: This administrative position is instrumental in maintaining the high quality, inclusive, evidence-based care which supports the success of our diverse, bright, and ambitious students. As part of the Executive Leadership Team at EUSHS, the Assistant Director aids the SDCS in the daily operations of the clinic to ensure high quality, integrated clinical services for students and dependent patients. The ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of efficient, collaborative outpatient medical care, preferably within a student health center or a practice that caters to a young adult population. Serving as the clinical lead for the Immunization Compliance team comprised of Nursing staff, this position elevates our commitment to ensuring the safety of our student community from a public health standpoint. The Assistant Director also serves as the clinical lead for two additionally important service lines: Allergy and Travel Clinics. Essential Responsibilities: Clinical Care (70-80%) + Provides direct outpatient primary care physician medical services (including Travel, Immunizations and Allergy) to Emory students and their adult dependents. + Proficient in Primary Care, Urgent Care and Sexual and Reproductive Health Care for a young adult population (preferably student health related care including contraception, eating disorder management, transgender care, and mental health treatment). + Experience in procedural skills such as suturing, incision and drainage and minor excisions. Sexual and Reproductive Health procedural experience preferred (IUD, colposcopies, Nexplanon insertions). + Proficiency or willingness to engage in care through a telemedicine platform. + Supports trainees at EUSHS, including Family and Preventive Medicine and General Internal Medicine residents.
