We are seeking an EngineeringManager to lead and grow our Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural (MEP/S) design professional services in the Mid‑West region. This role will serve as a key liaison between our corporate Engineering Practice (based in Williamsville, NY) and operations in the Minneapolis and Eau Claire, WI offices.

Responsibilities:
Serve as an expert leader in MEP/S design professional services.
Have experience working with architects, project managers, construction managers, energy service companies, developers, contractors, etc.
Coordinate work and efforts with various managers responsible for project performance locally, and across the company's footprint.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of NFPA, and applicable state and local building codes. Have depth of knowledge and expertise in your specific discipline (i.e. HVAC, electrical, structural, etc.).
Be able to lead an engineering team through an entire project. This includes leadership as a primary point of contact or working inside of an integrative project team.
Collaborate with company leaders and managers on initiatives, priorities, and project commitments.
Support business development efforts focused on MEP/S engineering services.
Recruit, build, and mentor an MEP/S engineering team in this region.
Lead preliminary assessments and high‑level project strategy planning.
Perform field investigations and condition assessments of existing systems.
Assist in proposal preparation and client presentations.
Develop basis‑of‑design documents, scopes of work, and schematic concepts.
Prepare reports and deliver presentations to clients and internal teams.
Make independent engineering decisions in the best interests of clients, teams, and projects.
Engage directly with clients throughout design and construction.
Review work completed by others; coach and mentor to build technical excellence.
Lead multi‑disciplinary teams in a collaborative environment focused on shared success.
Serve as Engineer‑of‑Record and professionally sign and seal construction documents within your specific technical discipline.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
Expertise in MEP/S engineering design.
Strong QA/QC capabilities on assigned tasks and projects.
Ability to lead development of construction documents and support bidding and construction activities.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is a plus.

Salary Range: $135,000 - $175,00

Salary Information

Under general supervision, this position manages activities on multiple projects including those of a highly complex nature for continuity in both design and construction phases.
The essential function of this position is to act as a project manager in the design and construction of transportation improvement projects for the Local Program and State Highway system as assigned. This position utilizes a great deal of independent judgment to provide services in the area of local program delivery. The cumulative consequences of error are significant since this position is responsible for as many as 100-150 active local program projects that have a direct effect on the Region's Performance Measures. The project manager has primary responsibility for scoping, scheduling, budgeting, management of consultant contracts, and supports the Consultant Unit supervisor in contract negotiations and has the responsibility of overall project quality.

Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $92,768 - $112,237, plus an additional $2,080/year for the Professional Engineer License and excellent benefits.
A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Travel up to 25% of the time may be required. Independent travel and overnight stay may be required for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership, guidance and training to the engineering team

Manage department budgets, headcount, capital equipment, outsourcing expenses, and assist with financial planning and tracking
Work with product line management teams in support of the development of new product and technology roadmaps. Provide input into defining capabilities required to meet the current and future needs and develops and executes plans to achieve
Manageengineering and quality activities to ensure design robustness and manufacturability. Perform Design of Experiments (DOE's) as necessary to ensure processes are centered. Ensure critical process parameters are properly identified, effectively measured, monitored, and have prescribed corrections if required
Ensure conformance to Product Development Process; monitor, track and report status of all projects
Manage and provide input to ensure compliance to product specifications and defining project milestones to meet schedule requirements
Define and implement best practices to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with all environmental regulations and standards with regard to material handling and proper chemical waste disposal
Interface with customers and key suppliers (occasional travel may be necessary)
