**Role Synopsis** The Electrical Technician oversees and executes electrical and automation installations for projects, ensuring systems are designed, commissioned, and maintained to industry standards as well as troubleshooting and repairs for existing systems. This role manages project delivery, collaborates with cross-functional teams, interprets technical drawings, and provides hands-on troubleshooting. The technician ensures compliance with NEC, API, IEC, and ISA standards, performs preventive and emergency maintenance, and supports upgrades and modifications to enhance operational reliability and safety.
**Key Accountabilities**
+ Plan, coordinate, and supervise electrical and automation installation and commissioning activities for oil and gas projects.
+ Oversee the design, installation, and testing of power distribution systems (480V-15kV), motor control centers (MCCs), PLC panels, and control systems.
+ Manage project scope, schedule, and resources to ensure on-time and within-budget completion.
+ Interface with engineering, operations, and construction teams to align project objectives and deliverables.
+ Review and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, one-line diagrams, and control logic schematics.
+ Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation loops, and communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.).
+ Ensure installations meet NEC, API, IEC, and ISA standards relevant to hazardous (classified) areas.
+ Participate in stakeholder meetings, progress reporting, and project close-out documentation.
+ Perform scheduled inspections, testing, and maintenance on electrical systems, including switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, and lighting.
+ Identify and repair electrical faults, overheating issues, grounding problems, and insulation breakdowns.
+ Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life.
+ Maintain power distribution and grounding systems in compliance with NEC and company standards.
+ Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in motors, pumps, compressors, PLC systems, and process equipment.
+ Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, meggers, and thermal imaging cameras to locate faults.
+ Perform emergency repairs during unplanned shutdowns and restore systems to full operation.
+ Ensure all work meets Class I, Division 1/2 or Zone 0-2 hazardous area electrical standards.
+ Work with engineers and supervisors to support equipment upgrades, retrofits, and control modifications.
**Essential Experience and Education**
+ 7+ years in oil & gas operations
+ Journeyman or Master Electrician preferred
+ Strong decision-making, independent work, and communication skills.

Position Overview

The Well Control Technician is primarily responsible for working on well control equipment, assembly/disassembly of choke manifolds, performing inspections and preventative maintenance on BOP equipment. This position is on call for any urgent field related issues.

What you need:
* Thorough knowledge of BOP and well control equipment

* High school diploma or GED and 1-3 years of well control or BOP/drilling rig experience

If diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues across pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and extruders sounds like your kind of challenge, you'll fit right in. You'll keep our production and facility systems running at design efficiency so the plant never misses a beat.
Your impact
Install, service, and repair production and facilities equipment.
Operate with minimal supervision-own your queue and prioritize effectively.
Follow LOTO and all safety procedures, every task, every time.
Troubleshoot and restore mechanical systems: pumps, motors, compressors, blowers, dust collectors, fans, heat exchangers, gearboxes, valves, extruders, and more.
Diagnose and fix electrical components: circuit breakers, fuses, contactors, solenoids, safety switches, transducers, electro-mechanical relays, solid-state relays, and electrical heating systems.
Perform minor welding, cutting, and fabrication work.
Execute preventive maintenance, complete work orders, and support facilities systems.
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to plan work.
Operate shop tools, electrical meters, forklift, and scissor lift safely.
Plan day-to-day tasks, projects, and shutdown work; keep the shop and plant in top condition.
Schedule and expectations
Typical shift: 10:45 pm - 7:00 am.
Training conducted on 1st shift: 6:45 am - 3:00 pm.
Full-time, on-site role where punctual, consistent attendance matters.
Mandatory overtime based on business needs; shifts may extend and can include evening, night, or weekend rotations.
Bring your strengths
High school diploma or GED.
Preferred: trade school/vocational certificate in Electrical or Maintenance; or 4 years of experience in a maintenance/electrical role.
Proficiency with email and communication tools (Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook).
Physical demands
Lift up to 55 lbs safely over an 8-hour shift.
Climb and work from ladders and elevated equipment.
