Overview
Under general supervision, is responsible for performing a wide variety of professional environmental, health physicist, natural resources, sustainability, laboratory, geological, and/or similar science related program work of average difficulty; and performs related work as required. This is the working-level in the TDEC EnvironmentalScientist sub-series. An employee in this class may perform a full range of environmental compliance activities, including inspections, monitoring, problem identification, sample collection, report writing, corrective action, emergency response, surveying, lab work, and enforcement duties inenvironmental regulatory, radiological health, natural resources, or sustainable practices program areas. An employee in this class may perform natural resource management and other non-regulatory duties.
This class is flexibly staffed and differs from the TDEC EnvironmentalScientist 1, in that an incumbent of the latter functions at the entry-training level. This class differs from TDEC EnvironmentalScientist 3 in that an incumbent of the latter functions at an advanced level and may lead other staff.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct inspections and/or investigations of equipment, structures, materials, and/or sites/facilities when required by a specific TDEC program area (e.g. air pollution, water resources, mineral and geologic resources, remediation, underground storage tanks, solid waste management, radiological health, natural areas, etc.) to ensure proper installation, maintenance, and/or operation and determine compliance with laws, regulations, or standards. Perform laboratory or field tests in accordance with requirements and analyze and interpret the environmental data and/or other information (e.g. monitoring records, site inspections, sampling data, etc.) using relevant methods to evaluate data trends, data quality, and usability for determining if further action is necessary.
2. Review, analyze, and maintain relevant documents or data submitted by applicants or acquired by site inspections and/or other informative sources used for determining minimum environmental or other compliance with established standards. Prepare various publications, reports, and technical documents (e.g. permits, designs, layout blueprints, soil evaluations, maps, plans, etc.) in a concise and legally defensible manner to ensure Agency's missions are met. Reviews records, data, operational plans, enforcement action requests, reports, Quality Assurance/Quality Control parameters, etc. and interpret findings and results (i.e. site inspections, permits, lab results, etc.) to ensure acceptable methodologies are performed and communicates interpretation of findings and results using regulations, policy, guidance, etc. to stakeholders.
4. Performs environmental or health investigations, remediation, natural resource management, and/or collection of environmental samples and/or monitoring data (e.g. soil, rock, air, water, sediment, sludge, biological, etc.) under physically demanding conditions (i.e. ditches, uneven terrain, wading in water, climbing, lifting/carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, etc.) and evaluates the results/data as required to determine compliance with permits, environmental or other standards, and/or ecological condition requirements.
5. Maintains, repairs, and calibrates electronic equipment [e.g. radiation detection meter, photo ionization detector, pH meter, GPS, and X-ray fluorescence (XRF)], scientific instruments, and mechanical equipment (e.g. ozone monitor, air monitor, laser level, watercraft, etc.), and inventories chemicals and supplies, disposing of expired materials in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
6. Provides technical expertise to emergency responders, stakeholders, and any other personnel during emergency events, industrial incidents/accidents, and natural catastrophes where impacts to the environment (e.g. release radiation and radioactive material, air contaminants, water contaminants, etc.) are imminent. Provide consultative, technical, or educational services to stakeholders (i.e. industry, municipalities, counties, individuals, or groups), the public, and/or staff regarding regulatory information and/or proper procedures for performing environmental work in an effort to enhance environmental stewardship, health or other standards, practices, and safety.

This is an exciting opportunity to help build a state-of-the-art facility and Quality System from the ground up. The TS/MS team will own all areas of technology transfer, process validation, and process stewardship.
Position Description:
The Bioprocess - Technical Services/Manufacturing Science (TS/MS) role provides technical support to ensure the reliable and compliant manufacture of gene therapy drug substance at external contract manufacturing groups and, when needed, at LP2, in accordance with global quality standards. This person interacts daily with a wide variety of people, including external partners, process team members and site management.
The candidate will be responsible for technical transfer, process validation, process stewardship and process monitoring, and will demonstrate a proactive attitude to issue resolution. A strong understanding of manufacturing principles is required to ensure those same standards are applied to the external contract manufacturers. The incumbent would preferably possess an investigative mindset and be skilled at critical thinking with a preference for collaborative working.
The position requires knowledge of cGMPs, applicable global regulatory manufacturing guidance, and the corporate/industry standards. The position requires working cross-functionally within the site and other functions to deliver on technical objectives.
Key Objectives/Deliverables
Have an in-depth knowledge of the science behind the molecule and the processes. Understand the process control strategy for gene therapy products.
Provide technical oversight and stewardship for manufacturing activities (e.g., tech transfer, process validation, frontline support and improvement).
Understand the scientific principles required for manufacturing drug substances, including stir-tank bioreactor, chromatography operation, TFF, viral filtration and aseptic processes.
Leads resolution of technical issues including those related to control strategy and manufacturing.
Employ excellent communication skills to manage internal and external relationships, perform effective investigations and disseminate actionable outputs.
Build and maintain relationships with development partners and central technical organizations.
Ensure proper characterization of processes and ensure effective documentation and justification of the process description, measures, acceptable ranges, and specifications. Experience with advanced data analytics to ensure that Proven Acceptable Ranges (PAR) and Normal Operating Ranges (NOR) align with process capability.
Ensure that processes are compliant, capable, in control, and maintained in a validated or qualified state through process monitoring. Identify any leading signals of process weakness from yield/quality standpoint and proactively resolve/escalate.
Understand, justify and document the state of validation with data that evaluate the capability of the manufacturing process to meet its stated purpose.
Initiate deviation records and ensure on-time closure of open records with appropriate CAPAs and effectiveness checks in place. Demonstrate a structured approach to problem solving and investigation.

Job Description
We're looking for experienced, professional drivers that will share our commitment to our people, partners and planet. Traveling to locations on your assigned route, you will be responsible for packing, transporting and properly disposing of waste material in accordance with our environmentally responsible policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
· Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations. Label containers and complete pre-printed manifests / work orders.
· Provide services related to hazardous and non-hazardous waste removal from customer sites.
· Overnights Required
· Process and prepare Universal Hazardous Waste manifests, bills of lading and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs) for hazardous waste shipment according to state, EPA and DOT regulations.
· Performs warehouse work related to receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of waste materials. Loads, unloads, moves, or stores items according to delivery or routing documents, or supervisor instructions and performing general housekeeping
· Performs various regulatory compliance and safety tasks including, but not limited to: Pre-trip inspections of vehicle, report all losses, spills, accidents, and safety violations to supervisor immediately and resolve leaking containers/containers in non-D
· Classify, segregate, and inventory waste containers in storage for shipment. Conducts lab pack operations. Pack small laboratory containers of chemical waste into larger containers for shipment.
· Ongoing contact with all levels of Customers on a daily basis in delivering, promoting, and collecting waste containers. Regular contact with many different levels of personnel.
· Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

Coordinate regularly with applicable government agencies to identify natural and socio-economic resources potentially affected by assigned projects

Interns will have a wide range of work opportunities to gain real world experience on every aspect of a project.

Using knowledge of various scientific disciplines, may collect, synthesize, study, report, and recommend action based on data derived from measurements or observations of air, food, soil, water, and other sources.
Responsibilities
Data Collection and Analysis
• Compile, evaluate, and interpret environmental data across multiple media (soil, groundwater, surface water, air) and compare to regulatory standards.
• Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring following established procedures for quality and accuracy.
• Analyze data to support site characterization, remedial design, and regulatory compliance.
Personal Capability Building
• Develop professional capabilities through training, mentoring, and ongoing education.
• Maintain understanding of evolving environmental regulations, remedial technologies, and industry best practices.
• Pursue and maintain external professional accreditation where relevant (e.g., Professional Geologist, Engineer, or Scientist).

Sampling and Testing

Project Management
• Support and/or lead environmental projects, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.

Environmental Impact Assessment
• Perform or support environmental site assessments, remedial investigations, and compliance evaluations.
• Assess environmental risks and impacts related to site conditions and recommend practical mitigation measures.
Solutions Analysis
• Evaluate remedial alternatives and conceptual site models to address contaminants such as VOCs, SVOCs, metals, and PFAS.
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to develop sound, data-driven recommendations.
Insights and Reporting
• Prepare clear, concise, and technically sound reports, correspondence, and regulatory submittals.
• Support development of proposals, technical scopes, and client deliverables.
Bid Solicitation / Request for Proposal / Tender Preparation
• Contribute to the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and related project documentation.
Community of Practice Management
• Engage actively within GHD's environmental community of practice to share knowledge and strengthen technical expertise.
Environmental Risk Management
• Identify, assess, and manage environmental risks associated with contaminated sites, infrastructure systems, and remediation operations.
• Understand design and operation of environmental containment and treatment systems, such as landfills, barrier walls, and pumping systems.
Education
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification required.
• Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer license a plus.
Experience
• 5-10 years of related experience, including field investigations, data interpretation, and technical reporting.
• Experience preparing regulatory work plans and reports for investigation, remediation, closure, and post-closure monitoring.
• Working knowledge of remedial technologies, hydrogeologic analysis, and environmental containment systems.
• Experience managing multiple tasks in a consulting environment with attention to quality and client service.

Job Description
We're looking for experienced, professional drivers that will share our commitment to our people, partners and planet. Traveling to locations on your assigned route, you will be responsible for packing, transporting and properly disposing of waste material in accordance with our environmentally responsible policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
* Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations. Label containers and complete pre-printed manifests / work orders.
* Provide services related to hazardous and non-hazardous waste removal from customer sites.
* Overnights Required
* Process and prepare Universal Hazardous Waste manifests, bills of lading and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs) for hazardous waste shipment according to state, EPA and DOT regulations.
* Performs warehouse work related to receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of waste materials. Loads, unloads, moves, or stores items according to delivery or routing documents, or supervisor instructions and performing general housekeeping
* Performs various regulatory compliance and safety tasks including, but not limited to: Pre-trip inspections of vehicle, report all losses, spills, accidents, and safety violations to supervisor immediately and resolve leaking containers/containers in non-D
* Classify, segregate, and inventory waste containers in storage for shipment. Conducts lab pack operations. Pack small laboratory containers of chemical waste into larger containers for shipment.
* Ongoing contact with all levels of Customers on a daily basis in delivering, promoting, and collecting waste containers. Regular contact with many different levels of personnel.
* Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
* Valid Driver License
* Must be at least 21 years of age
* High school diploma or GED
* CDL Class B
* HazMat Endorsement
Preferred Qualifications:
* Some College or waste industry experience
* Knowledge of computer software applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Maintains a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC)
* Strong working knowledge of Environmental/Regulatory/DOT rules and regulations.
