Responsibilities
* Projects involve a considerable amount of overnight travel, projects may be all over the country. The field-testing portion of each project typically lasts from 1 to 5 days and the test teams are generally home on the weekends, but some projects may require working or traveling on a weekend. The number of people needed in the field and the number of days in the field, varies with each project and changes from week to week. Expect 75% of the weeks to involve field work.
* When not in the field, duties may include equipment calibrations and repairs, prep and packing for future projects, data reduction and processing, report writing, and tasks of that nature.
* During testing, the EnvironmentalScientist will be at the location recording data, operating equipment, or working in the trailer recovering samples, performing analysis, etc.
* The EnvironmentalScientist will become proficient in the various EPA sampling methods and develop knowledge about many types of industrial processes.
The experienced EnvironmentalScientist typically advances into either a client-oriented career path of project management and business development or into a technical oriented career path working with the latest monitoring and analytical equipment.
Qualifications
* Must be able to comfortably lift and carry 50 pounds. The testing projects can involve moving equipment to, and working at, elevated test locations, such as an exhaust stack platform or a rooftop. Access to the test location may be by elevator, stairs, or a ladder.
* Must be able to work comfortably throughout all the seasons as much of the work is outdoors.
* Completion of assigned responsibilities in a team setting with strong written and oral communication skills, and moderate computer skills.
* Successful completion of a background check and drug test (including marijuana) prior to employment or within five working days from date of hire. Once hired, participation in the TRC random drug testing program.
* Possession of a valid driver's license and successful completion of a pre-employment motor vehicle records check to confirm a good driving record. Once hired, maintaining valid DOT driver status (not Commercial Driver's License) is required.
* Successful completion of all required annual safety training.
* College degree is required, science or engineering preferred.

Burns & McDonnell's Midwest Region is looking for a Staff EnvironmentalScientist to complete field work, permit applications, and task management for a variety of market sectors, including electric transmission, oil & gas, and renewables. The Staff EnvironmentalScientist will work with the office's Natural & Cultural Resources group in our Environmental Services Global Practice to perform the following duties:
+ Conduct environmental compliance audits, Best Management Practices (BMP) inspections, prepare permitting applications and analyze environmental data for various types of projects, including renewable projects, high-voltage transmission line routing, oil and gas facilities, power generation construction activities.
+ Coordinate with project teams on a variety of tasks, including completion of field surveys, environmental permitting with federal, state, and local agencies, and review of necessary project reports and materials.
+ Assist with completion of field investigations that may include wetland delineations, habitat evaluations for threatened and endangered species, and/or evaluation of other potentially sensitive resources.

**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Botany, Soil Science, or a related natural science degree from an accredited program is required.

REQUIREMENTS
You have a B.S. in Civil Environmental or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
You have a P.E. license or an EIT/FE and can become a P.E. within 6 months.
You have 10+ years of Civil Environmental Engineering experience.
You can work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
You have excellent technical, analytical, writing and communication skills.
You are willing to travel about 20% on average.
You have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive.

Job SummaryWe are seeking a General Laborer to join our team. In this role, you will support worksite operations through manual labor tasks. This may include keeping the worksite clean through the collection of trash, operating power tools, setting up temporary structures, or other necessary tasks. The ideal candidate is a hard worker with the ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
Responsibilities
Maintain a clean work environment by picking up trash, spill clean up, excess building materials, or other potentially hazardous products
Provide assistance to onsite tradespeople
Transport materials and equipment from one location to another
Operate power tools and/or industrial equipment
Set up cones and warning signs to increase visibility
Construct, transfer, and tear down temporary structures such as scaffolding
Other manual labor tasks as required by the foreman or supervisor
Report any unsafe conditions or equipment in need of repair
Qualifications
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects, digging, and standing for long periods
Strong attention to detail
Excellent hand-eye coordination
Ability to adhere to all safety rules and regulations
Knowledge of power tools and industrial machinery is preferred
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Additional certifications or apprenticeship experience is preferred but not necessary
Compensation: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour

**Responsibilities**
+ Assist plant management with development, implementation, and maintenance of injury prevention activities.
+ Recognize, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions, behaviors, and work practices. Recommend appropriate containment and corrective actions for hazard control design, methods, procedures, and processes.
+ Communicate and share best safety practice information with Corporate EHS. Collaborate with allied functions such as Engineering, Security, Medical, Purchasing, Facilities and Equipment Services to ensure employee safety and compliance with all safety regulations.
+ Inspect facilities and evaluate EHS related activities such as storage of dangerous fluids and gases, material handling equipment, etc. to ensure compliance with safety, environmental and health regulations.
+ Complete all annual compliance requirements as mandated by EHS calendar.
+ Coordinate and/or conduct safety and environmental training sessions or meetings. Develop and/or assist in development of EHS documents, daily start-up meetings, incident alerts or other means to maintain high hazard awareness among all employees.
+ Schedule and conduct EHS training for plant personnel, including lift truck training.
+ Monitor manufacturing facilities for on-going compliance with company safety, environmental and health programs such as safety eyeglasses, safety shoes, hoist inspections, PPE, etc. Conduct safety and environmental audits and assist with audits conducted by Corporate EHS.
+ Work with the company employees, supervisors, managers and executives in addressing EH&S related issues.
+ Order safety and environmental equipment/supplies.
+ Maintain files, records, and update systems pertaining to safety programs, as required by Company EHS program guidelines.
+ Prepare periodic reports for management.
+ This position requires minimal travel (0-5%) and the successful candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to complete projects with minimal supervision.
**Qualifications**
+ This position requires a four-year college degree in EH&S or related field. Non-degree considered with 12+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED.
+ Two to four years' experience relating to EH&S management in a commercial or manufacturing environment.
+ Valid driver's license required.
