Requirements: It will be required that the Core Faculty is certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties in his/her specialty, will obtain a License to practice medicine in Florida, and be credentialed at the facilities of his/her clinical engagement. The ideal candidate has some clinical experience in an academic/teaching environment, and has demonstrated involvement and/or a strong interest in medical education, as well as some involvement in research and scholarship over the past couple of years. Candidates who have recently graduated will be considered.
Responsibilities: The Core Faculty will be responsible for day-to-day involvement in the education of the residents and/or fellows, as well as the education of medical students, and devote a significant portion of their overall effort to the education of residents and fellows. As assigned by the Program Director, the Core faculty may be asked to take on the administration or implementation of key components of the program and will support program leadership in the development, implementation, assessment and improvement of parts of the curriculum, resident assessment and mentorship, resident engagement in scholarship and other important tasks. The UPRT Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT), including spin training, in accordance with the approved Training Course Outline as outlined in the Skyborne Airline Academy Training Manual. This position involves both ground and in-aircraft instruction, with a primary focus on safety, regulatory compliance, student engagement, and performance tracking.
The role ensures the safe and effective execution of flight training duties while maintaining full regulatory compliance with company and national authority standards. The instructor will also support training record documentation, lesson preparation, and continuous instructional development.
Flight Operations and Safety
Maintain operational and safety oversight of aircraft, passengers, and cargo from engine start through shutdown.
Conduct pre-flight planning, weather assessments, and familiarization with regulations, destinations, alternates, and escape routes.
Execute safe command of aircraft and enforce safety protocols in all phases of flight.
Evaluate and mitigate risks, including refusal of boarding to individuals posing safety threats (e.g., under influence of drugs or alcohol).
Ensure adherence to all checklists, operating procedures, and airworthiness standards.
Verify pre-flight inspections, fuel/oil sufficiency, and proper implementation of manufacturer-approved procedures.
Monitor weather and operational conditions throughout flight.
Report equipment unserviceability, flight irregularities, or emergency deviations in compliance with aviation authority regulations.
Instructional Delivery and Student Development
Prepare and deliver ground and flight instruction in UPRT and spin recovery, as assigned to both U.S. (CFI candidates) and UK (integrated course) students.
Provide pre-flight and post-flight briefings to trainees.
Maintain currency in UPRT techniques, company procedures, and regulatory guidance.
Conduct accurate student evaluations, monitor progress, and recommend remedial action where needed.
Ensure lesson-specific preparation, clear communication of objectives, and student comprehension.
Deliver instruction in accordance with the published training schedule and maintain on-time performance.
Complete all required training documentation, student records, and administrative reporting promptly.
Compliance and Professional Conduct

We have 3 lanes of cycling at Equinox: Road, Competition, and Beats, to meet the needs of our diverse member base and satisfy the variety of styles of cycling instructors. At Equinox, we conduct a 7-week paid mentorship program, Equinox Cycle Pro, that prepares instructors for success in the lane that suits them best. In some instances, it is possible to bypass the mentorship program and begin teaching immediately. The Equinox Cycle Pro Program entails the following responsibilities:
Complete the 7-week paid mentorship cycling program: Equinox Cycle Pro
Attend a once a week 2-hour session to demo portions of class and receive feedback
Complete a total of 2 hours of online training that consists of video tutorials
Perform a final audition
After completion of the Equinox Cycle Pro Program, there is a final audition for the position of cycling instructor. That position entails the following responsibilities:
Deliver the Equinox Experience to our members in each class;
Adhere to the description of the class and modify the intensity for participants when necessary;
Continuously monitor the exercise intensity throughout the duration of the class;
Ensure class begins and ends on time;
Assist Members with technical/mechanical support on the bike to maximize their experience
Teach respective classes on a regular basis and keep subbing to a minimum;
Communicate with Group Fitness Manager on member feedback, equipment and operational status, scheduling, and subbing;
Qualifications
The successful candidate should have the following experience and qualifications:
Must possess a current cycling certification; This certification is not required to audition for The Equinox Cycle Pro Program, but must be completed prior to teaching (Schwinn or Stages indoor cycling certifications are highly recommended)
Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification;
