Machine Operator Job Description
Title - Machine Operator 2nd shift hours of 4:30 pm to 3:00 am Monday - Thursday.
The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery in a manufacturing or production environment. Operators are expected to monitor machine functions, maintain quality control, and ensure that production targets are met while adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor CNC DMG-Mori and Okuma milling and lathe machines, drill presses, grinders, etc.
Adjust machine settings and parameters as needed to ensure optimal performance and output.
Quality Responsibilities
Inspect parts for defects or deviations from specifications using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
Perform routine quality checks and report any issues to the supervisor.
Ensure the final products meet company and customer quality standards.
Safety and Compliance
Follow safety procedures, guidelines, and standards to maintain a safe working environment.
Wear appropriate safety equipment (PPE) such as goggles, gloves, hearing protection, etc.
Adhere to company policies and industry regulations to ensure workplace safety and compliance.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience - previous experience in machine operation or manufacturing environment preferred, but training will be provided.
Attention to Detail - strong ability to identify defects or deviations in production.
Physical Stamina - ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform physical tasks in a manufacturing environment.
Communication - basic written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
Safety Knowledge - understanding of safety standards and ability to adhere to them.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.

We are seeking a Machinist with a minimum of 3 years of experience setting up and operating machines. This is a full-time hourly production position reporting to the Machine Shop Manager. Occasional overtime is required to meet product demands and schedules, including some evenings and weekends, when necessary. This position is in a manufacturing/machine shop environment, and this individual is responsible for having fundamental knowledge of CNC milling machines, including understanding of programming, set-up, and operation, as well as the ability to work with senior level machinists to learn the proper and safe way to make our quality production parts. First and second shifts available.
Schedule: Full time, on site, 1st or 2nd shift available
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performing programing, operation and setup of various CNC milling machines
Perform setups and inspections for other departments as needed
Study and interpret drawings or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements to maximize efficiencies
Communicate and report non-conforming parts to supervisor, engineers, production control, and quality control to resolve issue
Maximize efficiencies through effective work set-up and transitions
Meet required product rates, schedules and deadlines
Follows proper work safety practices
Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly
Performs basic preventative maintenance on equipment
Ability to use computers and other office equipment
Required Qualifications:
Mechanical aptitude and dexterity
High School Diploma or GED
3-5 years' experience on CNC mills (Mazak preferred)
Ability to use and read micrometers, calipers, dial indicators
Experience with reading blueprints and assembly drawings
Ability to handle the demands of working under deadlines
Must be very detail-oriented, highly organized, self-motivated, friendly, reliable, and use good judgment
Ability to work and communicate effectively with other employees in a close working environment
Desired Qualifications:
1+ years' of Mazatrol programming experience, 3- 4- or 5-axis
1+ years' of MasterCAM programming experience, 3- 4- or 5-axis
