Role Summary This position is for a hands-on Field Service Technician who will support Rivian vehicle repairs. The role requires a collaborative, team-oriented individual capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. While the role is based in a primary location, it may require operating remotely or traveling to various locations, including the production plant, to provide vehicle support as business needs demand. This job description outlines the full spectrum of skills required, and candidates will be assessed against this spectrum to determine the appropriate level for their expertise. Responsibilities This position is for consideration in one of the following locations: Charlotte, NC; Knightdale, NC; Duncan, SC; Ladson, SC; Gaithersburg, MD; Glen Burnie, MD; Franklin, TN; Memphis, TN; Richmond, VA; Sterling, VA; and Shepherdsville, KY. Perform or assist with assigned vehicle diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections, whether at a service center or in the field directly at customer homes, businesses, or other convenient locations. Identify and explain the Rivian product line, EV framework, tools, and accessories. Utilize available technical resources to follow Rivian repair procedures efficiently without compromising quality or safety. Conduct road tests to ensure the quality of repairs. Manage necessary parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory. Identify areas of improvement and provide feedback to senior technicians or leadership. Support service campaigns and containment initiatives. Ensure that all work and technical notes are properly documented for internal and external use. Work collaboratively with a team spirit and maintain high-quality work with minimal supervision. Communicate with a high level of professionalism in customer-facing situations. Stay current with technical skills and complete required training. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED is preferred. Proficient in using hand tools and power tools. Must be at least 21 years old. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record, with no driving-related suspensions or revocations within a 3-5 year period. High Voltage Systems: A core requirement is understanding the risks involved with high voltage systems and the ability to safely power them down and work on them using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes understanding the function of various high voltage components and their monitoring systems. Highly skilled technicians will be capable of diagnosing complex high voltage faults related to charging, isolation, and interlock loop issues using the manufacturer's diagnostic processes. Chassis, Brakes & Suspension: Technicians should be proficient in fundamental chassis service, including the ability to mount and balance tires, perform vehicle alignments, and replace brake system components. The role requires the ability to diagnose mechanical suspension components and progress to repairing advanced vehicle dynamic issues related to traction control, ABS, and power steering. Top-tier candidates will be adept at resolving complex drivability concerns such as Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH). Thermal Systems: Technicians must be able to service vehicle thermal systems, starting with the ability to perform a coolant drain-and-fill and safely handle refrigerant with a 609 certification. A comprehensive understanding of the entire A/C system and its components is expected. An ideal candidate can proficiently use an A/C machine and diagnose a range of thermal system concerns, including issues with coolant systems, air conditioning performance, and HVAC systems. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS): A working knowledge of ADAS is required, beginning with a basic understanding of the features and their operation. Technicians will be expected to replace system components and perform necessary calibrations. Advanced understanding includes knowing the functionality and limitations of the complete ADAS system and the specific roles of its various sensors. Body & Glass: The role includes responsibilities related to the vehicle body, from assisting with glass removal and installation to safely replacing windshields and other glued body fixtures. Technicians may be tasked with adjusting body panels to specified tolerances and should be capable of diagnosing and repairing issues such as wind noise and water leaks. Pay Disclosure Hourly Rate for Maryland Based Applicants: $25.88 to $38.10 per hour (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). Job Description
Position Summary & Objective
We are looking to add a skilled Field Service Technician to our team out of the Elizabethtown, KY or Lansing, MI region. The Field Service Technician will travel to customer facilities to lead, manage, and provide hands-on work regarding the process of disassembly, repair, and assembly of different subassemblies or complete mechanical and/or forging presses.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
* Ensure team is performing work in a safe manner, wearing all required PPE at all times.
* Lead, manage, and supervise both customer and Enprotech employees in any maintenance and press repair actions.
* Act as a customer site liaison for daily activities and planning.
* Assemble, repair, and rebuild manufacturing equipment from component parts in accordance with standard operating procedures to customer specifications.
* Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
* Disassembly and reassembly of metal forming presses which also requires rigging, fitting, scraping, grinding, adjustment, etc.
* Installs lubrication blocks, lines, and general plumbing (i.e., pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.).
* Troubleshoots hydraulic lubrication systems to determine necessary repairs to regain functionality.
* Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
* Prepares and utilizes basic hand tools including but not limited to ratchets, impacts, torque multipliers, hydraulic torque wrenches, magnetic drills, and hydraulic jacks.
* Verify that parts are prepped, deburred, and free from defect prior to assembly.
* Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards using process inspection tools and devices.
* Operate small lathes and mills to polish small parts and make keys.
* Operate cranes, forklifts, and other rigging equipment.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Ability to troubleshoot machines to diagnose problems.
* Ability to demonstrate knowledge of basic electrical codes including knowledge of pulling wire, electrical components, switches, high voltage, and control centers.
* Ability to read and interpret schematics, plans, and operating manuals.
* Ability to fit fluid lines and pipes.
* Ability to assemble and disassemble parts and systems.
* Ability to "think outside the box" and figure out problems associated with production operations.
* Must be able to verbally communicate with team members, supervisors, and Engineers.
* Must be able to work in confined spaces.
* Must be able to work with solvents, oils, and grease.
