Pay Transparency

The Private Equity Analyst will engage broadly in various areas of the private equity industry, including manager and fund diligence for StepStone's advisory practice, as well as diligence responsibilities for StepStone's asset management business lines (i.e., co-investment and secondaries practices).

The Corporate Strategy Analyst is responsible for supporting the team on long-term strategic planning and key initiatives across ESPN. The role requires a baseline understanding of the sports / media ecosystem, quantitative and qualitative research skills, rudimentary financial analysis, and an ability to learn quickly.
Responsibilities:
Support team on key strategic initiatives for ESPN and work on actionable industry insights for the company.
Collaborate with key stakeholders across the company in the analytical process.
Assist in the preparation of communications both to and for senior executives, often based on complex strategic analysis and financial modeling.
Perform research, financial modeling, and analysis to inform business decisions.
Crystalize key insights from data and communicate complex analyses in an efficient and effective manner to a variety of internal audiences across departments and functions.
Understand trends in the industry and help develop points of view on potential business impacts to be shared throughout the company.
Work with internal colleagues and a diverse range of stakeholders across ESPN, Disney Entertainment, and Disney Corporate including Finance, Research, Programming, Content, Product, Editorial, Platform Distribution, Ad Sales, Business Development, and Legal on key strategic initiatives and priorities.
Qualifications:
Strong proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel
Preference for solid written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present to and interface with colleagues across all levels and lines of business
Understands the competitive landscape and current competitive trends in the media industry; ability to forecast future trends
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years of strategy, analytical business development and/or financial experience preferred
A minimum of 1 year of experience in strategy at a television programming or media company, sports league, consulting firm, or investment bank

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $100,100 to $134,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The Stout ESOP Investment Banking Team is looking for an Associate to handle the day-to-day execution of ESOP Formation, Recapitalization, and Capital Markets transactions. Associates will work under the guidance of product bankers for various transaction and pitch assignments. The ESOP Investment Banking team partners with successful family- and founder-owned businesses to evaluate the advantages of ESOP transactions alongside traditional sell-side options. As the sole financialadvisor, we facilitate successful ESOP transactions, typically supported by capital raises led by Stout.
We collaborate with industry bankers and our capital markets team to identify ideal candidates for ESOP exits, often working with owners pursuing a dual-track approach of both ESOP and traditional transactions. Additionally, we assist large, successful companies with established ESOPs in recapitalizations with private capital providers, and support industry bankers in sell-side roles for ESOP-owned companies seeking exits to strategic buyers or private equity.
What You'll Do:
Create dynamic three-statement financial models, valuation models, and pro forma financial statements incorporating detailed transaction adjustments
Prepare and deliver pitch materials for ESOP formations and recapitalizations, working in partnership with practice leaders throughout the firm and sector leaders within the investment bank to win and execute new mandates
Attend client meetings and present complex deal aspects directly to company shareholders and Board members
Perform extensive financial modeling, structuring, and negotiating of live ESOP transactions
Launch transaction plan and manage day-to-day transaction execution activities, including up-to-date transaction timeline, information requests, data room oversight, financial model upkeep, CIM and Databook preparation, Board and Shareholder presentations, lender lists, funds flow, etc.
