Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Gathering and preparing necessary information, tools and items needed to complete assigned painting task Painting Faux finishes, such as wood graining, marbleizing, aging, sponging and rag rolling Field color matching - picks colors and mixes paint while using color matching for desired assignment Drawing, layout and painting of backdrops and murals with either brush or airbrush Preparing surfaces to be painted. Consisting of cleaning, scraping, caulking, applying putty, sanding, patching, priming and base painting Painting or airbrushing of 2D or 3D fields and props Cleaning up paint area. Your work will be supported by our paint prep and sandblasting team members. What does a Painter do at SpecSys? Pour paint into spray gun and spraying specified amount of primer or finish coatings onto prepared surfaces Selects paint according to company requirements and matches colors of paint following specified color charts Regulates controls on portable ventilators and exhaust units to cure and dry paint or other coatings Strips grease, dirt, paint and rust from projects, using abrasives, solvents, brushes and sandblaster Sets up portable ventilators, exhaust units, ladders and scaffolding Operates lifting and moving devices to move equipment or materials to access areas to be painted Disassembles sprayer and power equipment, such as sandblaster and cleans equipment and hand tools, using solvents, wire brushes and cloths Mixes, stirs and thins paint or other coatings, using spatula or power mixing equipment What are we looking for in a quality Painter candidate? Industrial painting experience (preferred) Lift up to 50 lbs. Able to bend, crawl and be on feet for 8 plus hours per workday Auto Body degree (preferred) Or any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance Many tasks include their own work and/or the review of work of others in the department.
