Flexpoint Ford CEO and leadership

Don founded Flexpoint Ford in 2005 and has been our Managing Principal and Chief Executive Officer since inception. Don began his private equity career in 1994 at GTCR, a leading Chicago-based private equity firm, where he was a Principal, headed the healthcare investment effort and for part of his tenure, chaired the firm’s Investment Committee. At GTCR, Don also invested in transaction processing and financial services companies. Prior to joining GTCR, Don was an investment banker at Lazard, Ltd. where he focused on mergers and acquisitions in financial institutions and other industries.

Don holds a B.S. degree in finance with highest honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar.

Mark is the Chief Administrative Officer of Flexpoint Ford. Prior to joining Flexpoint Ford in 2020, Mark was the Finance Director for Private Equity and Real Estate at Allstate Investments, part of The Allstate Corporation. Mark began his career in public accounting and spent 13 years at PwC, primarily in the Transaction Services advisory practice.

Mark holds a B.A. In Business Studies and Economics from the University of Sheffield and an M.B.A from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England & Wales.

Alexis Palombit are an Executive Administrative Assistant to CFO, Investment Firm at Flexpoint Ford and Sr. Associate, Meetings and Events at Grant Thornton LLP and are based in Chicago, Illinois. They have worked as Assistant, Intern for Owner of Wedding and Event Planning Company at Laura Allis Events and Mobilitie at Mobilitie. Alexis attended Michigan State University between 2010 and 2014.

Danielle Gerbie is an Executive Assistant To Chief Executive Officer at Flexpoint Ford and is based in Greater Chicago Area. She has worked as Executive Assistant To Chief Executive Officer at National Home Rentals and Front Office Supervisor at Compass Health Center. Danielle attended Indiana University Bloomington between 2010 and 2014.

Missy serves as Chief Accounting Officer of Flexpoint Ford, overseeing the financial reporting as well as audit and tax management responsibilities. Prior to joining Flexpoint Ford in 2015, Missy spent 11 years in the Assurance Services practice in the Chicago office of the accounting firm Ernst and Young LLP, most recently as a Senior Manager, where her experience included GAAP and SEC financial reporting, risk management, and auditing both publicly and privately held REITs as well as private equity companies.

Missy holds a B.A. and M.S. degree in Accounting from Michigan State University and is a certified public accountant. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois State CPA Society.

Phil serves as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Flexpoint Ford. Phil’s responsibilities include financial reporting, audit and tax management, regulatory compliance, information technology, and limited partner communications. Phil has over 15 years of experience in private equity accounting and operations. Prior to joining Flexpoint Ford in 2008, Phil was the Vice President of Accounting at CMD Realty Investors, a Chicago-based private owner, investor, and fund manager of commercial real estate. Phil holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from DePaul University and is a certified public accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois State CPA Society.

Steve is a Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Flexpoint Ford. Prior to joining Flexpoint Ford in 2005, Steve was a Partner at the accounting firm of Ernst and Young LLP. Steve began his career in 1985 in the Chicago office of Ernst and Young LLP. From 1992 to 1994, Steve was a member of Ernst and Young’s National Tax Department in Washington D.C.

Steve holds a B.S. and M.S. degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois State CPA Society.
