William Albert Flick was born in Lismore on February 14, 1890 and lived an ordinary life.
In the mid-1910’s, William Albert Flick, a dairy farmer in Northern NSW, developed a compound to control termites on his property.
Boracure is a long-standing and respected business established in the pest control industry since 1911.
He married Phyllis Pearl Jamison on the 3rd of February 1915. It was Phyllis who saw the potential of the business and by 1918 they began to offer their services commercially.
His process was so successful that in 1918 he created his own pest control business: W.A. Flick & Co, later known as Flick Pest Control.
Amalgamated Pest Control grew from two small family companies back in 1923 into Australia’s largest privately-owned pest control company.
In the 1930’s Flick Pest Control successfully expanded into the cyanide fumigation of cockroaches and bedbugs in ships and hotels.
Founded in Sweden in 1934, Anticimex and Flick share the same values – outstanding service, long customer relationships and a dedication to innovation.
In response to this, Anticimex Insurances was established in 1954.
During the 1990’s, Anticimex also began cooperating with a number of properties and estate agents.
Developments from the 2000’s continue and several new services were launched such as Work Environments and Radon Inspection.
In the 2000’s, Anticimex also expanded into Denmark, Finland, Germany and The Netherlands.
In 2008, ISS acquired Boracure.
In 2015, the Group established the Anticimex Model (see “–The Anticimex Model” below), which focuses on its branches as the cornerstone of the Group.
In 2017, the Group entered the Malaysian market through the acquisition of DC Hygiene, further expanding its operations in Asia, and also acquired the remaining 80 percent of WiseCon.
In 2018, the Group entered France through the acquisition of Danton, and further expanded in the North American market through the acquisition of Turner Pest Control with operations in Florida, and Killingsworth Environmental of the Carolinas with operations in North Carolina.
In 2019, Anticimex expanded further in the North American market by acquiring Waynes Pest Control with operations throughout Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee, and JP McHale Pest Management in New York State.
During the fourth quarter of 2020, the Group completed its first acquisitions in Arizona, California and Colorado in the United States.
In May 2021, the Group entered its 20th country, Colombia, with the acquisition of Palmera Junior.
