I worked at FLIPANY and unfortunately found it to be the most disorganized employer I’ve experienced. On my very first day, a leader jokingly said “welcome to the circus,” and I quickly learned that statement was more true than I realized. While the organization promotes itself with good intentions, it often operates more like a for-profit business than a mission-driven nonprofit. Leadership lacks transparency, and there were multiple occasions where employee pay was mishandled or delayed, including attempts not to pay staff who resigned. The turnover rate is extremely high, which speaks to the instability and lack of support for employees. Overall, it was a stressful and unprofessional work environment that made it difficult to succeed or feel valued.
What I’d like best about the CEO is that I did not get to see her very often. She is a sales person and a con artist. Most of the leadership team were her minions.
I would improve their company culture by having better communication. Better training outside of just watching videos and being more honest. They need to strive to have less turnover.
I prepared for my interview with this company as I always do by studying and doing my research. However, you can be the best interviewer and still go on the roller coaster ride with this company.
Their compensation is in line with industry standards. But you’re gonna earn your money and then some.
The representation of diverse demographics in this company was very good. Although the working environment sat me for the number of minorities that they employed.
What brings me joy is to have a good mission of helping others, and to truly honor that and fulfill it as opposed to focusing on dollars and pleasing funders with lies.
