* Directs and coordinates research and analysis of cases to determine the applicable laws and the implementing regulations which were violated; and the proof required to support such cases and methods of obtaining them.
* Determines impact on law enforcement activities, both at the investigative and prosecutive level.
* Assists the Special Agent in Charge with the planning of investigative work and CDI program operations; and the coordination and definition of investigative objectives for identifying resources to participate with other law enforcement agencies.
* Manages and oversees the reporting of investigative findings within assigned area for prosecutive and management officials. Ensures that reports are accurate, concise, and complete.
* Monitors staff activities in the conduct of interviews with suspects, witnesses, and informants in developing cases; serving warrants and subpoenas; and participating with other law enforcement agencies.
* Plans, organizes, and provides direction to CDI Team Members with respect to case development, investigative techniques, methodology, precedent setting cases, and the views, goals and policies of OIG's upper management.

HOW TO QUALIFY: Eligible applicants must meet the following qualification requirements
Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience must include all of the following:
1. Planning, managing, or conducting investigations related to alleged or suspected criminal violations of Federal laws.
2. Demonstrating knowledge of criminal investigative techniques, rules of criminal procedures, and/or laws.
3. Following precedent court decisions concerning the admissibility of evidence, constitutional rights, search and seizure, and/or related issues in the conduct of investigations.
4. Leading or managing a project and/or team.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Applicants will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Additionally, the Law Enforcement (1811) series has the following qualification requirements:
* Tentative selectee(s) must pass a pre-appointment physical examination. The duties of positions in this series require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee joints is required. Arms, legs, and feet must be sufficiently intact and functioning in order that applicants may perform the duties satisfactorily. Sufficiently good vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required to perform the duties satisfactorily. Near vision, corrective lenses permitted must be sufficient to read printed material the size of typewritten characters. Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 35 decibels at 1000, 2000 and 3000 Hz levels. Since the duties of these positions are exacting and responsible, and involve activities under trying conditions, applicants must possess emotional and mental stability. Any physical condition that would cause the applicant to be a hazard to themselves or others is disqualifying.
* Tentative selectee(s) will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment unless currently an SSA employee occupying a position already in a random drug testing program. Appointment to the position is contingent upon a negative test result. After appointment the employee will be included in the agency's random drug test program.
* This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
* The selected employee will not be made a final offer of employment until after we receive notice of the completion of a successful background investigation.
* Selectee will be required to pass firearms qualification and may be required to carry a firearm.
* The selectee will be required to attend a course of instruction on the proper use of Oleoresin Capsicum spray (OCS), which is the oily resin of pepper. This instruction includes being exposed to OCS so that knowledge of its effects can be gained.
* This position is covered by the special retirement provision for Federal Law Enforcement Officers (FLEO). Selectee without previous FLEO service must be at least 21 years of age and not yet 37 years of age or older on the date of appointment.
* Selectee newly assigned to the Criminal Investigator position MUST successfully complete the 9-week Criminal Investigator Program training course at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), Glynco, Georgia.
* This position is designated as a mobile work position. Mobile work means work that is characterized by routine and regular travel to conduct work in customer or other worksites as opposed to a single authorized alternative worksite such as a home or office. It is different from telework and/or remote work. Examples of mobile work include site audits, site inspections, investigations, property management, and work performed while commuting, traveling between worksites, or on Temporary Duty (TDY).
* Selectee must sign a mobility agreement to accept relocation to other geographic locations if required by the agency.

This is a non-bargaining unit position to be filled under the provisions of the Management Officials Promotion Plan. The best-qualified list for this vacancy may be used to fill the same or similar positions in a component(s) under the same Deputy Commissioner. LOCALITY PAY: Salary will be set in accordance with locality pay provisions. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Consumer Services Division (CSD):
CSD includes the PUCO Call Center. Staff in this division educates consumers on their rights and responsibilities for safe and reliable service and mediates simple complaints between consumers and various utility companies. Staff will also mediate more complex disputes by collecting the facts from both parties and applying PUCO policies, rules and regulations to resolve the dispute, including those received via the chairman, commissioners and/or legislative liaison. CSD staff audits regulated utility and household goods companies to ensure these companies are following PUCO rules and regulations governing consumer safeguards.
What You'll Do:
In this position as a Public Utilities Customer Service Investigator, you will:
* Answer incoming hotline calls or chats from Ohio's utility customers and provide relevant answers and resources for approximately 4 hours a day
* Investigate, conduct research, and analyze data, statistics, and information pertaining to customer service complaints for 4 hours day
* Conduct interviews regarding customer service issues
* Determine areas of non-compliance and prepare correspondence and reports documenting specific recommendations for corrective action
* Educate customers and utility company representatives on the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio's position on rules and regulations interpretation
This is a customer service position that does not involve law enforcement investigations
Our organization currently follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office as needed and based on operational need. This is subject to change with limited notice. A teleworking agreement must be approved by management. This is a primarily remote position, but some in person trainings and meetings may be required.

What You'll Do:

In this position as a Gas Pipeline Safety Compliance Investigator, you will be a field-based employee responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and conducting independent field audits and inspections with gas utilities. Inspections include:
Reviews of company plans and procedures
Reviews of company construction, operations, and maintenance records
Field observations of gas company employees and contractors
Field inspections of company pipeline facilities.
You will also be assigned to investigate natural gas related incidents and complaints.
The position will involve learning and applying federal and state pipeline safety regulations to various company records and facilities to determine whether the company is complying with the regulations. Job Summary:
The Arizona Attorney General's Office Civil Litigation Division/Consumer Protection and Advocacy Section is seeking two (2) Civil Investigators, one in Phoenix and one in Tucson. This position will assist Assistant Attorneys General with conducting civil investigations relating to potential violations of the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act, financial exploitation of vulnerable adults, and environmental violations. Job Duties:

The Gas Pipeline Safety team at the PUCO is responsible for enforcing federal and state pipeline safety regulations. We work in partnership with the federal Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).
In this position as a Gas Pipeline Safety Compliance Investigator, you will be a field-based employee responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and conducting independent field audits and inspections with gas utilities. Inspections include:
* Reviews of company plans and procedures
* Reviews of company construction, operations, and maintenance records
* Field observations of gas company employees and contractors
* Field inspections of company pipeline facilities.
You will also be assigned to investigate natural gas related incidents and complaints.

Some inspections are performed as part of a team, but most inspections are performed independently.

Conducts investigations to resolve child nutrition program complaints:
Independently answers complex and situational correspondence regarding compliance investigations.
Assists with the office's non-compliance investigative referrals related to child nutrition program compliance.
Assists with the initial investigation/evaluation of non-compliance investigative documents to determine child nutrition program non-compliance.
Answers general telephone inquiries.
Directs callers to appropriate staff & when appropriate responds to routine inquiries about the child nutrition program compliance investigation/process.
Helps monitor the Serious Deficiency process for sponsors, ensuring the Office is in compliance to process dates and deadlines.
Gathers preliminary data to supplement investigations
Research & studies records, reports & documents.
Verifies information given by parties.
Interviews parties or witnesses in-office, email or by telephone.
Conducts correspondence to request & verify information.
Gathers documentation or evidence.
Verifies information provided by complainant and school districts.
Assists with the office's general email account to assist individuals with questions about child nutrition compliance.
Complies and evaluates information gathered and prepares written reports of findings. Drafts routine letters & prepares reports documenting investigation findings.
Maintains accurate documentation of completed tasks (in electronic form) according to office guidelines.
Prepares spreadsheets to track records & evidence.
Assists the program administrator with gathering & verifying compliance data for office and legal review.
Maintains confidentiality of all records & information in accordance with Ohio law.
Performs other duties (e.g., maintains electronic and hard copy files;
