You will… Coordinate with senior Measurement Science staff and other stakeholders to facilitate the Psychometrics Summer Internship. Stay current on trends and research in certification and licensure testing; represent NCCPA on assessment, psychometric, and research issues with internal and external constituents. Present and/or publish work at relevant psychometric conferences and publications. Develop study designs and research analysis specifications for proposed research studies. Perform routine psychometric work (e.g., scaling, equating, standard settings). Hard Skills You Will Have PhD in Psychometrics, Quantitative Psychology, Educational Psychology, Measurement & Evaluation, or a closely related quantitative field. 5+ years of applied psychometric and/or psychometrics research experience. Knowledge of diverse psychometric models (Classical Test Theory, Item Response Theory, Equating models). Knowledge of psychometric tools, capabilities, and limitations. Proficiency in R programming language. Ability to run and evaluate item and test analysis software. Under the direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory), this position performs field research, data collection, data entry, data quality assurance and control, analysis, and report writing for fisheries investigations in the Trinity River basin and Department hatcheries. The position is part of the Departments Trinity River Project and involves coordination with other members of the Project and other agency or Tribal partners. This position offers the opportunity to work in remote wilderness areas of the Trinity River Basin. This position will actively participate in monitoring some of California's most iconic salmon species including spring and fall Chinook and Coho Salmon. Incumbent will actively participate in sourcing natural area coho salmon broodstock for Trinity River Hatchery. Incumbent will represent the Department in dealings with local, State and Federal governmental agencies, Tribal partners, conservation groups and private landowners. Area of geographic responsibility includes all nine Northern California counties that make up the Northern Region, however duties will be largely focused in Trinity County. Contacts made in the course of this work are highly sensitive and involve a wide degree of interests. The level of consequence of error in applying the best available scientific knowledge, technical information, and policy may have highly significant and adverse consequences for private landowners, various governments, the public, the Department, Tribal partners, and trust resources, among others. This position offers the opportunity to support both field and office-based projects, depending on project needs. This position is hybrid eligible and requires candidates to be within commutable distance to Cincinnati, OH. Experience and qualifications for success Minimum qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Water Resources, Botany, Environmental Science, Fish and Wildlife Science, Natural Resource Management, related field, or equivalent professional experience. * Two (2) years of relevant natural resources experience in the private or public sector, including at least 1-year of experience conducting natural resources field work focused on wetland delineations and aquatic resources assessments. * Experience conducting desktop research for preliminary wetlands evaluations and compiling field data into aquatic resource inventory reports. * Familiarity with GPS devices and digital data collection, and/or mapping software such as ArcGIS. * Ability to travel to a location, walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, and ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds. * The ability and willingness to learn new survey and monitoring techniques and protocols. * Desire to provide excellent client service in a fast-paced work environment. * Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and high attention to detail. * The ability to safely drive a 4WD vehicle on backcountry roads. * Applicants must have valid driver's license and be able to meet SWCA's driver requirements. The Wetland Scientist will support multiple projects simultaneously and will be expected to represent the company at public meetings, workshops, and meetings with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as other stakeholders in conjunction with permit application review. Openings exist for qualified individuals with 2 to 5+ years of directly related experience in the primary responsibilities listed below. SALARY RANGE Epsilon's pay range for this position is $70,000-$105,000 USD per year.
