In 1979 The name was again changed to Psychiatric Hospital Uselu, Benin City by Decree No.92 of 1979 which established the Psychiatric Hospital Management Board.
Housing Partnership (HP) was formed in 1986 after a Palm Beach County Affordable Housing Task Force recommended that the county form a public-private partnership to address the need for affordable housing in the county.
Funded through the William E. Sadowski Affordable Housing Act in 1992, it serves to bridge the gap between the development’s primary financing and the total cost of the development while targeting elders, homeless persons, farmworkers and persons with special needs on a geographic basis.
In 1996 Housing Partnership was honored to be named a chartered affiliate of the national NeighborWorks America, created and funded by the United States Congress to promote neighborhood revitalization and affordable housing.
Helped create, chaired, housed the 13th Business Alliance in 2008, now the Central City Alliance, with mission to improve & transform our business district (still on Board);
Created CityFarm Community Garden on our non-profit Campus (2009 – date);
Helped create Central City CRA (Community Redevelopment Area) in 2011 to eradicate slum & blight in our neighborhood; helped create Redevelopment Plan; serve on Central City CRA Advisory Board;
In 2012 Doctor S. O. Olotu took over as Medical Director of the Hospital and led for 8 years
ROOF was founded as a nonprofit corporation in 2014 with support from the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council (FDDC). The organization was formed as a result of the work of the FDDC Florida Inclusive Housing Task Force.
In 2016, ROOF held its first statewide conference on housing for people with developmental disabilities.
In May 2019, CPSFL took the next steps in the journey to unite as one organization going forward rather than simply functioning as one by unveiling a new logo to reflect its rebranded name: Community Partners of South Florida.

In May 2021, Florida Housing staff traveled to Wewahitchka in Gulf County for a home dedication for the McDaniel family.
