Driving their 1929 Model A delivery truck in the local parades is another activity that is loved by all, and occasionally, the old truck is seen making a surprise flower delivery.
Flowers & Plants etc opened its doors in September 1976 under the ownership of Bev and Arnold Krauss.
Jim started working there in his spare time and, ultimately in 1976, decided to buy it.
Their son, Chip, joined them full time in 1987 after working for the business part time while growing up.
His wife, Sonya, joined the team in 1988.
Flowers & Plants etc has sponsored a McLean Little League team each year since 1989.
1990’s – The flower business goes digital and the company goes public
In 1999, Rosalind Evans, took over Flowers Etc. from her father, Boyd, and morphed the business into a shop with way more etcetera than flowers.
2000’s – 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. begins to expand product offerings to fulfill more of its customers gifting needs
2010’s – The company continues its history of innovation, offering customers a seamless shopping experience across multiple digital and voice platforms
In 2015, the McCann family founded Smile Farms Inc., a non-profit organization, which provides meaningful jobs in agricultural settings to young adults and adults with developmental disabilities.
